Hope you can help.....Please!
Day 180 for me is tomorrow for arrival on 7/29/2013.
Just to familiarize myself with the online process I selected Akershus, for the day before my arrival-7/28/13, 10 people. The site showed the times available but when I went the next step it asked for a credit card guarantee.

Will this happen to me tomorrow when I actually try to make my selections?

Thanks
Karen

This will happen only for the restaurants that require a credit card. In my experience that includes all signature meals and character meals. I noticed that Ohana dinner also requires the cc even though its not a signature or character.

Thanks for the link......I see that some of the restaurants we selected require
a cc guarantee.

Another question.......Does the Hoop Dee Doo show require an additional payment in advance even if we are on the DDP?

Payment is due at the time of booking for Hoop Dee Do Review unless you are on the dining plan. A credit card will still be required to set the guarantee for the reservation, but you will not be charged.

To expand, if you are booking online, BE SURE to watch for this. Sometimes the online system won't connect your DDP to these reservations and you end up being charged. So just take a bit of extra time to make sure it is just taking the card as a guarantee and that they do not charge in full at that time.

Happened to me recently when booking the Spirit of Aloha, reservation page gave option to guarantee with CC or with DDP, but when it went to the payment page, it actually charged the CC. Since we're leaving soon, I left it alone and will ask for refund when we are there.

Any restaurant that is a character meal anytime during the day will require a cc guarantee, even if that particular meal is not a character meal. Ohana requires a cc guarantee because breakfast is a character meal. Cape May is the same way. Dinner does not have characters, but because breakfast does, dinner also requires the cc guarantee.

I have had to do cc guarantees for all my reservations so far. BOG, Crystal Palace and Hoop-de-doo. Good to know that not all require it. It really slows up the process. Interestingly enough my cc has an expiry date prior to date of reservations but still seems to accept it. At the moment I can't get it to show me my reservations on the disney site.

Be Our Guest is not a character meal (despite the brief appearances the Beast is doing at dinner) and does not host a character meal at any time. Nor is it a signature restaurant. So it's an exception to the rule, and is probably on the list because it's extremely popular.
