I have purchased gifts for all of my nieces and nephews except for one. He is getting a gift card to go towards the purchase of a new gaming system.
In the past, when I have given money, I have found a creative way to give it.
One year, when my nephew turned 16, I rolled up the currency into "logs" and put them into a 16 count crayon box. It was fun to see the look on his face when he unwrapped a box of 16 crayons on his 16th birthday, then again to see the look when he opened the crayons and found money.
Another time, I gave them all cash for Christmas. But this was because one of them had only one item on his Christmas list..."cold hard cash". So, I froze the bills into ice blocks (using a small plastic container for each of them", then sent them on a scavenger hunt. Each clue leading to another clue until they found the "cold hard cash" in the freezer.
So, now I need an idea for presenting a gift card.
