ok, so i have a slight problem. During the move, a back support piece for the dresser broke. I finally fixed it last night. When we went to move the dresser into place, the same thing happened that broke it in the first place. Well the L bracket bent, so i replaced it with 3. One in the center and one on each end. It should hold.
the support piece is a 2ft board that fastens to the bottom of the dresser in the back. Without it on, it causes the dresser to sag with the mirror on. And what's breaking it, is trying to move it across the carpeting. We're not strong enough to lift it entirely off the carpet to set it in place against the wall.
And i can't put it against the wall without the mirror because of the support braces screw into the back.
Any ideas on how to move the furniture into place with the mirror on??? Btw, it's particle board and press board, so it's really heavy. And it's starting to split easily.
Three things broke in the move to the bedroom set. I got the other two fixed. And my aunt is ready to give the mirror to salvation army. She's just that fed up.
I really want to solve it and accomplish it before i leave tomorrow.
For a particle/pressboard set held together by pegs rather than screws has done really well for 25 yrs.
