So, tomorrow is my last day of nursing school - EVER. One of our assignments this semester was to read a book off a recommened list and do a book report on it. Tomorrow we (the 2 other students that read the book) are supposed to get up and do a "creative presentation" on the book. The point of the assignment was to help open our eyes to different cultures, etc.

We read "The Kite Runner". If you've read the book, you know that there is one very defining moment in the book. I thought it was a great read (although very disturbing in spots), and don't want to give anything away. I'm just not sure how to describe it to the class without going into that scene. I also am having an extremely difficult time coming up with any "creative" way to present it.

I know I've procrastinated. Now we gotta come up with something decent...probably get up there and discuss the book and our thoughts on it.

Congratulations on finishing nursing school!

Since your class is an adult group, I don't see why you can't discuss the events of the novel. I mean, they will see much worse in their workplace than this one event in the novel. I wouldn't be graphic about it, but I wouldn't gloss over it either.

As far as being creative, any ideas on exactly what your prof is looking for? You could find images which represent some of the themes/events in the novel or find some music representative of the culture. You could even show short clips of the films the boys watched together and discuss the significance to the novel/time frame, etc.
