Creative Magic Band Question

We are doing a split stay in July.

My daughters saw that we were offered Magic Bands for each Resort.

They were thinking they could get 2 different colors, 1 for each.
Then they want the puck from 1 with the band from the other.

My question is, we get both sets of bands, then can I deactivate the second set.
and just use the pucks from the first resort?

Will this work?

Because you'll be switching around pucks, you really don't need to deactivate Set #2. You can just leave Set #2 at home or in your room safe.

My kids are going to do that with their team colors - so they will have a yellow band with a blue puck and a blue band with a yellow puck and use them both!

You can use all bands on any trip, think of them as keys to your MDE account and just as you can have many keys to the house you can have many active bands.

If they don't want 2 bands you could bring the other puck and get one of the accessories to make it a key chain etc. if you don't want to wear the band one day. Even if you do choose to leave it home I wouldn't deactivate it as you/they may want to use it on a future trip.

Yea there's no need to deactivate one. They can swap the colors around and use each band like normal

As others said, no need to deactivate. I just had a split stay with 2 bands and alternated which band I wore based on what I was wearing that day.

I recently took the puck out of my magic band and put it into a Minnie Mouse MagicKeeper. It's a PITA. I watched 3 videos ahead of time, and they all had problems getting the puck into the MagicKeeper. I don't know if it's as much of a pain to get the puck into a new MagicBand after you take it out of the first one.

What worked best when putting it into the MagicKeeper (and probably the MagicBand): when you put it in, press on lower left, then lower right, then top left, then top right. Make sure you hear it click into place each time.

I know this doesn't answer OP's question. Just trying to be helpful.

You can deactivate the ones you aren't using, but there really isn't any reason to do that. Maybe on Monday they'll want the pink band with the purple puck and on Tuesday they'll want the purple band with the pink puck. If you keep them all activated, they can wear whichever one they want. I've got about a dozen MBs and I bring them all with me on every trip and wear a different one every day.

We switched the pucks in our MagicBands and it was really hard to do - or I should say, for DH to do. You need a really small screwdriver, like the kind for eyeglasses. The screws were very tight and hard to get out. And for some reason, one of the pucks wouldn't fit all the way back into the band. It is screwed in but doesn't rest flush with the band.

Did your new MB2s arrive with the screwdriver? Or, maybe the screwdriver is only included with the accessories purchase.

Our MB2 did not come with a screwdriver. My understanding is that the accessories do come with one. I haven't tried it yet, because I can't find my eyeglass repair kit, but I have a feeling that the screwdriver in that will work on the MB2. If I remember to buy a new repair kit at the store in the next couple days, I will find out for sure and report back here.

yes the screw driver dose come wth the accessories along with 2 extra screws

This is the issue that I was talking about - in all three of the videos I found online, they had this problem when putting the puck into the MagicKeeper.

In one video they thought that part of the plastic bends if you try too many times, including if you can't get the puck in right the first time and try again.

The tip about doing it one corner at a time, which I mentioned above, worked for me the first time.

I think it's tempting to press in the middle of the puck, and that apparently will not work.
