Creating your own website

Ok, I admit it I am not that technical, but I want to create an easy website, with some cool flash bits for our wedding and keep the guests informed. What software package have you used to create your website?

My DD is 15, and she said she uses "notepad". But she says you would have to make raw material, and be VERY experienced with html. Because you would be writing the codes yourself. I don't know ANYTHING about all of that, she is self-taught!

You use notepad do HTML from freehand. You can use netscape composer and frontpage give what see what get to is the most popular.

I have my website with tripod. I like them. I did my website all by HTML freehand. I am redesigning to use CSS and XTML because I lost all my information when my computer die.

You might want to head over to the wedding section of the site. When i was planning my wedding, tons of people had wedding websites. I'd browse around and see something that you like and borrow edit the code to personalize it. Lots of people just borrow snippits of code from lots of places. You can do it from scratch but i don't like to re-invent the wheel.

Check over on theknot.com i think they have something you can create over there, i haven't used it.
I bet if you check on some other wedding planning sites, they may offer site space as well. If your getting married at disney i think they now offer some web space. I thought i read that somewhere, but could be wrong.

You can use something as simple as notepad or stuff that is more fancy.

Another thought. you could make your own yahoo group. I know some people did that for wedding information. Depends if you want more presentation or information for the guests.
