Describe a restaurant that you would like to create for WDW. What would it's theme, cuisine, and atmosphere be like. I would love to be in charge of creating a WDW restaurant from scratch.

OK, I'll play!

My template would be the Blue Willow Inn, east of Atlanta on I-20. (Check it out ... http://www.bluewillowinn.com/ ) Note the accolades this glorious place has gathered!

It would have a defininte elegant antebellum south feel (see PO Riverside's manor houses, or Gone With the Wind.) I'd like for it to be set up with an option of either a buffet OR menu service; patrons could take their pick. And, I want it to serve southern "comfort" food - fresh vegetables, hearty meats, sinful desserts. And I want it to serve fresh-brewed iced tea and made from scratch lemonade.

Yes, I know I hail from the South, but I'm just as comfortable with Indian or Middle Eastern foods as I am with turnip greens and corn bread. So I'm not being a regional snob here. "Soul food" is one of the only food genres missing from the WDW palate. Presented properly, it'd be a hit.

The menus at Boatwright's, House of Blues, and 50's Prime Time have some of the items I'd want, but that's just a start.

Dreamfinder2 That sounds excellent!
I would design a Restaurant "The Old Port Royal Inn" (something like Shutter's at CB,Island Theme but a little more "dark" ) with a tie in to Pirates of the Caribbean like Blue Bayou at POC in DL. Fresh Island Seafood Cracked Conch and Chowder a must. Scotch Bonnet Peppers and lots of Rum and Rogue Ale.

For me it's RE-create a restaurant.
Bring back Papeete Bay Verandah!!
Pacific Rim cusine, a true Hawaiian atmosphere, nice view of Seven Seas Lagoon and the Castle, a three piece combo w/hula dancer quietly entertaining, ladies given a complimentary lei when arriving.
My kind of place...

Wow-- I would definately go to this restaurant :D

Slept on this thought, and here's another one.

How about an authentic Greek restaurant, themed to ancient Greece, with statuary, fountains, marble columns, the whole shebang. You could have kabobs and gyros for the hesitant, but could branch out into souvlaki, moussaka ... have some lamb and pork entrees, stuff like that. You've got a mix of European and Oriental influences. Sounds like fun to me.

OT, briefly, but like Uncleromulus, I have exceedingly fond memories of our honeymoon and the Papeete Bay Veranda. Ditto the Lake Buena Vista Club, the old Empress Lily (Steerman's Quarters, Fisherman's Deck, Empress Room), the Gulf Coast Room at the CR (our first meal as a married couple). *sigh*

Sorry about the hijack, Mike. Back to our original programming.

I would love to see an Asian Fusion type restaurant. Not just Chinese, but Thai, Malaysian, Phillipino and Japanese type cuisine using the finest American ingredients.

I would have an eclectic dining room....modern, light wood with a ton of glass, stainless steel and light.

I was hoping the Mission:Space pavillion would have a restaurant. It could have been designed to be an International Space Station that rotates slowly with "views" of the earth, moon and stars. (Kind of like Milliways, the Restaurant at the End of the Universe!)

The food could be anything from around the globe with fun names, and there would have to be a Milky Way Sundae and Rings of Saturn (onion rings).

I like corny space stuff.

I would love to see the House of Mouse made into a restaurant/nightclub. Just like the show. Mickey would host and play cartoons (like they are the "acts") The menu would be eclectic but would have cute names like Pooh's Pu Pu platter...Mickey Mouses' cheesecake etc...
