Pixar & Marvel Days Back but Nothing for the Dream?

I think this is how a lot of cruisers feel. If the Dream was offering seven nights from Fort Lauderdale, I think they would sell much better but not many people want to make the trek down there, especially for three night sailings…
Zero chance I would drive the extra 2 hours for a 3 night sailing. I would have to do a B2B. But then it is only a sailing to the Bahamas, which is cold a chunk of the year and you lose half a day in between the 2 cruises.

We drive down from atlanta, so already a 7 hour drive. Just seems like the mouse is leaving money on the table by only having the Dream do short sailings, which is odd. Disney never leaves money on the table.

THIS. Disney just loves to do 3,4,5 days WAAAY too much. They really need some more variety!
Exactly. Come this January and February, Disney will be running four of their larger ships out of Florida- all doing 3, 4, or 5 day sailings (wish, fantasy, dream, destiny)

I know they like to charge a premium for the treasure, but is there any chance they would consider just giving us one other ship doing seven nights out of Florida?

And it will be cold in the Bahamas. Hard pass for us in the winter.

In the "I am not trying to overthink this" category, my take is that Pixar remains on the Fantasy because they already have the setup for it there. Also, while I have no hard data on this, sailings out of PC seem to have more "Pixar-aged kids", as my recent experiences in FLL saw the average age skew a little bit older than PC. As for MDAS - they could have used either of the Magic or Dream which both hosted these and they went with the Magic that has longer sailings.

While I totally agree that DCL could be doing something to boost the desirability of sailings from South Florida, the primary mix of 3/4 night sailings is less ideal, even if skipping every other sailings

I would love for them to do 7 nights on the Fantasy or Dream in particular. I think my daughter, who loves to draw, would really enjoy Animation Magic in Animator’s Palate, but my understanding is they only do it on 7 night or longer sailings. We’re now stuck with trying to see if we can get an AK cruise to work out or hope one of the 7-night Mexico sailings from San Diego will work with her school break (seems unlikely based on sailing histories). Europe cruises are out of budget for us for the time being.

I think it’s a huge missed opportunity not to vary the 7-night itineraries by ship class, either.

The Fantasy did 7-nighters for the first good chunk of her life.

Yes, much of which was before my daughter was born or able to draw. :) Circumstances of potential guests change, and I just wish Disney better understood that, especially if they limit certain aspects of their ships to particular itineraries that they then don’t provide.

Animation Magic is really cool. We just experienced it for the first time on the Magic cruise repositioning from Galveston to San Juan.

There are some 7-night options out there other than Alaska & Europe on the classic ships.

The Fantasy has a 10-night southern scheduled for next summer for example.

We’re keeping an eye out for itineraries like those! I just hate that they’re so rare (and expensive).

(And yes, Animation Magic is really cool! I experienced it over 10 years ago on a 6-night on the Magic out of Galveston, which is how I knew about it! But then on the Animator’s Palate description in the app for my and my family’s upcoming 5-night, I saw that’s now only done on sailings 7 nights or longer.)

It started on the Fantasy when she was doing 7 nights. It's expanded to other ships, but only on 7 nights or longer because that is the only way all cruisers would have the opportunity for it.

I’ve been on both the Magic and the Wonder on 3/4n cruises where they have done Animation Magic instead of Sorcerer Mickey.

My 6n Dream cruise also had Animation Magic (as they do not have the pirate menu on 6n so everyone gets the rotational dining twice.)

I’ve never seen it on a shorter than 6 nights on the Dream or Fantasy though.
