OK, I was wondering if anyone has ever just had their kids eat breakfast in line? I'm thinking RSR. That line sounds insane! I'll have a stroller so my little kids could sit and eat cereal. I'm thinking the little boxes and bring the little bottles of milk. My older kids would be super easy too. I'm planning on bringing a bunch of food anyway. We are staying at the Park Vue Inn, and it has a breakfast, but the last time we were there, it was nuts! Very crowded, no where to sit. So we thought that at least for my dd's we would bring cereal and just have it in the room ready to go to save time. My boys can go by themselves to the dining room (that's generous terminology! :rotfl:) And my husband and I can trade off. My dd's are slow in the morning so I thought this would save time, and money. So what do you think?

We've done the breakfast in line thing, usually as we're waiting to get into the park. I just filled sandwich bags with a type of cereal my boys would eat dry and they munched that. Then we had little bottles of milk or water or juice boxes for them to drink. Sometimes we've brought muffins or bananas or apples, whatever is good to get you started. Usually we were done eating by the time they opened the gates in the morning, but if not, everything was easy to carry and walk with or to re-wrap and toss into the backpack until we found ourselves standing still again.

You can totally do it. Our first year (kids were 6) we munched on homemade pumpkin bread and drinks in disposable cups on our morning walks from PP to the parks. There's always time to munch in line too. This year I made homemade breakfast cookies but we ate them in the room. We've also done cereal/milk in the room.

Two bird with one stone! I say go for it! Disney does not mind if you bring food into the parks anyways, so it all works out!

Have fun!

I always have my boys eat breakfast while waiting for gates to open. Gives DH time to finish his shower and join us. :D

You wont have your stroller while in ride lines though

We've done cereal & milk in the room. One of us would just run to eating room at the motel and grab it and come back so the girls could eat in their pj's and watch a cartoon. The only problem was depending on who was running the breakfast, they wouldn't always let us take it out of the eating area. So this year, we are going to bring our own. The best thing about the Park Vue Inn is it's location. And free parking. And they have a room with 3 queen beds. That's why we stay there.

I've never tried cereal, but we often eat granola bars or nutri grain bars on our way over to the parks, or in line. I think cereal and milk would be tough without a stroller, but then I'm one who can't figure out how to eat at a party without a table, so I'm sure there is a way to do it, I'm just too awkward!

Something else you may want to do is bring some juice or milk boxes in your checked baggage. I've been doing that the last few trips, and it is again something that is easy to drink in line. Or we also often take a Camelbak full of water to sip on while we wait.

Hope you guys have a great trip!

My DD is not a morning person and is slow getting up in the morning, so we usually just wake her up and feed her breakfast in the room while DH and I get ready. It gives her a few minutes to sit and get herself awake and moving. Then once DH and I are ready, we get her ready. DH and I usually eat something quick in the room too.

No reason not to eat in line for a ride if that's what you want to do. I've seen people eating in lines before. We've grabbed beignet's at the Jazz Kitchen and eaten them for breakfast walking to the park. We've stood outside eating while waiting for the park to open. At WDW, we have eaten dinner while sitting on a curb waiting for the evening parade to start.

We're driving from Nevada so I'm planning bringing plenty of stuff. The stroller holds lots of bottled water in the bottom so no need to buy water. Plus, there are lots of nearby grocery stores that I can replenish.

I'm not so sure about eating cereal in a stroller either. :) It might be a little bumpy. Probably should wait until we are stopped. I'm just hoping that we can get moving in the moring so we aren't so behind. my dd6 is a sleeper. DD4 is an early bird. I hoping if we make enough noise my sleeper will just wake-up "naturally." ;)I know at least one day we MUST get up early so we can get to RSR as early at possible. I'm really dreading Carsland, and that's sad.

We did bagels and peanut butter (made in hotel room) and ate on the way to the park.

We ate while waiting for the park to open. yogurt, bananas, nutri grain bars, bags of cereal. I didn't deal w/ milk. Granola bars for a snack later.

Well, I'm just glad I'm not the only one. I was afraid people would look at me like I was a bad mother! :)

I was thinking I could also bring or buy while there those Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches that you put in the micro and my boys could eat those. And the girls too, if they would eat them. My dd's love being on vacation because they get to eat Fruit Loops everyday. The "rainbow" cereal instead of cherrios or frosted mini wheats or the dreaded egg. :)

No way! :)

It takes a miracle to get our three boys out the door and heading towards the park at a decent hour and those early morning hours are precious! My guys LOVE the Jimmy Dean biscuits for walking and eating. We also bring plenty of fruit, Odwalla Bars, oatmeal (we pack paper bowls because we're weirdos) and baggies of dry cereal.

When we're splurging, we buy a family pack of beignets at the Jazz Kitchen on the way through DTD and munch in those. At least, the boys do. My breakfast is usually an energy drink or a cup of coffee.

We'll do fruit, hard boiled eggs, (the hotel) pastries. I also bring a big bottle of carrot juice every morning for me.

That's a great idea! I'm always trying to get some protein in them.

Exactly my thoughts! I love cream cheese on my bagel but it was better to opt for pb. Plus, we drove down and I brought it all with us, and pb travels better so I didn't have to take an ice chest and keep the ice fresh etc.

:)

A bad mom for feeding your kids while taking them on a great vacation? Silly girl! LOL

Believe me, you'll see plenty of "wow, parent of the year" moments at DL but yours will NOT be one of them!
