Crazy question about tickets/park hoppers

With all of the Annual Pass holders, do you think that Disney will ever have a special that gives fastpasses, like the ones that AP's got as an option for the "Give A Day" to people who purchase park hoppers?

It seems to me that this would be a great thing for them to give the tourists, who are the ones who spend a lot of $$ at the parks.

It could be like "Purchase a 3-day or more park hopper, and get early entry PLUS bonus fastpasses for rides such as xxx, xx, xxx, etc."

We just got back and the crowds and wait times were horrid. We don't plan on going back anytime soon, and we have done Spring Break there 2 years prior to our last trip.

Does this seem like something Disney would ever do? Or am I just imagining it would be a good perk for them to offer?

It wasn't only AP holders who had the option of getting fastpasses with GAD, anyone holding multi day tickets could get them as well.

So, yes, as part of various promotions, I expect to continue to see FP options for multi-day ticket holders. I wouldn't expect to see more general promotions, however, as they would probably overwhlem the FP system if everyone with a PH received extra FPs. -- Suzanne

I'm sure the concept has certainly been explored.

However, I would think, going forward, that the focus would be on providing On-Site Guests with a more enjoyable expereince (though, given it's size, DLR could theoretically include Good Neighbor Hotels).

It would be similar to the Universal Express service that Universal Orlando Resort offers to it's on-site Guests, which allows them unlimited expediated entrance to selected attractions at Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure for the duration of their stay. Taking that further, you could imagine situations such as allowing certain Guests (particularly those who like to plan out their Disney vacations) to select specific Disney's FASTPASS Service return times on specific attractions weeks and months prior to arrival, similar to the Dining Reservations system in place now.

The possiblities are endless, really.

AP holders spend lots of money at the Parks as well. And they do so throughout the year.

I doubt it, especially because (you'd be surprised) a lot of tourists do not know how to use the FP system. It is better to do research and figure out how to maximize FP than having to rely on them just giving FPs to you, IMO.

I have a couple questions for OP,
1. Did you not expect the crowds to be that high during Spring Break?

2. Did you arrive at park opening and use FP a lot?

:confused3 If crowds aren't your thing, you can go during less crowded times, or you can work around them.

I think my biggest problem was that I had no idea that Easter was so early when I booked our vacation.

We have gone during Spring Break for the previous 2 years and have never had as many issues with the crowds.

This year, however, the crowds ate us up!

We were there from the 27th - 31st of March, being at the parks on the 27th and 30th. We had no issues on the 27th. On the 30th, we were there at opening and used RideMax, but ended up leaving way early because the crowds were eating us alive! DH, DS, and myself got tired of dodging people and walking into people as they stopped in the middle of walkways. The last straw was when I almost fell into the road trying to avoid a lady with a glazed look in here eyes pushing a double stroller. She almost took me out! No joke.

We had a better time at Universal Studios during our vacation, where probably half of the people there had annual passes. The people seemed way less frantic and we didn't have to dodge as many people.

Vacation just was not as magical for us this year as it had been the previous 2 years.

To make up for it though, we are going to try out the local Great Wolf Lodge this summer. And we may make that our destination for Spring Break if all works out. It will certainly be cheaper, plus probably not even half as crowded (even during Spring Break) as Disney.
