Crazy Haunted Mansion game!

I've also found that I score more when there are only two people playing.

well here is another DIScovery..
if there is only u against a lot of ppl, u win!!
idk why, i think it has to do with the fact that u don't catch ghosts to fast then the players get caught by yours and then u catch them!! (double points)
so i guess that "unfair" advantage really works out!!
( at least for me.. i was alone and beat the other team who had a full list..) :cool1:  :cool1:

I am only good on a one against one match. Otherwise my computer freezes crashes and completely messes up. Playing against many people I only get 60 ghosts.

Last night Fly and i played several games. Some with CDNMickey and LittleBelle.Using the no click trick,I got 4 more ghosts than usual, lol, putting my ghost count up to 8.:)

Wow, brain! You are an expert. You'll have to play on my team ;)

I am really new to VMK, like 3days. How do I get a real name. I am still guest #whatever.....I also have on these stupid glasses. Dont know how to get them off either...very lost...can someone help??? :rolleyes1

It takes a few weeks to get a name approved. My nephew's name was approved in about two weeks, I created two characters in Disney World on Dec. 6th, and I'm still waiting. So give it time :)

The funniest is when I think I'm going to crash the game, and suddenly,
it's like the Keystone Kops took over my screen! Zoom! Zoom!
Everyone is running around in hyperspeed! That's another fast way
for me to turn into a ghost. ;)

Ok i had to comment on this i totally agree and actually laughed out loud when I read this. I too have the Keystone Kop effect sometimes...even in pirates. It is quite entertaining...ahhh thanks for the laugh :)

I am not good at that game at all! I have a really hard time moving around, and keep getting stuck.

Same here. It has nothing to do with not clicking the mouse. I don't click the mouse, but my character only seems to move more freely after it has been caught and turned into a ghost! Using the arrow buttons does not help either.

The irony is this game is the best opportunity to earn credits, and yet it is not fun to play due to not being able to move/getting stuck all the time :sad1:

Then I'm generally stuck in the corner for a few seconds and a ghost of the other color will come get it.
I feel your frustration about the game. My husband came into the office the other night because he heard me pounding my arrow keys when I had become stuck again.

Try making your mouse do a circle around the circle in the game and you will become unstuck and be able to move to where you need to go. I also have been finding that I am better able to move if I get close to a ghost, click the shift or ctrl key only once, and then move toward the ghost.

Still, I'm not that good.

I love this game. But, I have noticed a diference in my two computers. My laptop is absolutely impossible to play. When I have no choice I try, but..it's embarassing. :earsboy:

LOL, You ONLY pound your keys in frustration?

Man, I'm cussing like sailor in my frustration. :teeth:

I'm "fair" at the game; I'm happy if I get ~20 ghosts each round, total 55-70 in a 3-round game.

Unlike most people, I use the keyboard to play; actually the "alternative" keyboard arrangement. With the mouse I am in NO control whatsoever.

With the keyboard + a good internet connection, I find it pretty easy to navigate, even being able to maneuver between and around "enemy" ghosts. With a slow internet connection, though, ghostification is frequent.

Regarding, getting stuck: I've noticed that (with the keyboard, anyway), I ALWAYS get stuck after "wrapping" around the screen, exiting one side of the screen and re-entering on the other side. I have to let go of the movement keys I was using, press a different movement direction, and THEN continue in the originally intended direction.

I also find it better (for my generally slow computer/internet combo) to only press the CTRL fire key ONCE when I get the near the ghosts, rather than to press it repeatedly while playing.

=====

Anyway, if mouse control is getting frustrating, I'd suggest trying the alternative keyboard controls (where LEFT makes you go straight left across the screen, and pressing BOTH LEFT+DOWN makes you go diagonal left + down the screen). You need to hold combinations of direction keys down throughout the game, but if with my slow connection and computer I can play fairly decently, I'm sure anyone else can too.
