Recently I heard that fathers were dressing themselves as Darth Vader, Yoda, Frankenstein, Dracula and Wolfman only to have their newborn sons also dressed up like that. Has anyone had parents so crazy they would do that?:rolleyes1

I saw a dad dressed up as Pooh, with his daughter as Piglet. The newborn baby was a Hunny pot.

A couple of years ago at my church's halloween festival one of the dads dressed as the man in the yellow hat from curious george and his daughter was curious george. That one was pretty cute too.

That is bad? Why? Sounds like an involved parent/family to me.

DS is going to be James (from Thomas the Tank Engine) for Halloween, if DH was off duty that night, I bet it would be easy to talk him into dressing up like Sir Topham Hat.

My husband was a hunter on our Daughter's first Halloween, and we had her in a bunny rabbit costume. He carried her around all night at the party that we attended. :)

That is what I was thinking too.:confused3 I dress up as Elvira and my DDs as little witches - I am a craaaaazy parent in the eyes of the OP.;)

I don't think the OP was talking about Halloween. There was a post a few days ago where a lady asked if it were strange her DH wanted to wear a costume to Disney in December just because.

I know my DS has a friend whose dad is really into Star Trek so much that he wears Star Trek clothes to parades and they have meeting where they wear them. He moved out his sophomore year to his uncles house he was so embarrassed by his dad.

I dressed up one year as a cow complete with udders. My kids love it and have begged me to dress up again. I don't find anything weird about the dads dressing up like that.

Now if you want to talk about the tween and teen costumes out there then I would have something to say. I am in a tiff with my DD11 over wearing tights or nylons with her costume this year. She says her dress is longer then the shorts she wears which may be true but if her dad sees her costume she won't be leaving the house.

Call me crazy too... I was asked to be the secret special reader at my son's school years ago....so I dressed up as Princess Ariel's....ummmm mom...thought I was too old to be her! LOL! Had the dress and hair...I thought the teacher was going to pee her pants as we read the Little Mermaid!

If its for Halloween, I think its great! Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I love making costumes...

If its NOT for Halloween, but just for everyday wear... that would be a bit odd!

I find this sad - and NOT the dad's behavior, but the son's. Would he move out if his dad dressed up in city's Hockey team jersey, and went to Hockey nights with his friends? Or wore baseball jerseys with some guy's name on the back that isn't even his? Or wore Disney-themed outfits and went to Disney fan club meetings?

People wear things that show their affiliation with something they love - whether its Star Trek or some other thing. To be so embarrassed by your Dad's interests that you leave home seems pretty judgmental and intolerant - two things Star Trek teaches people are wrong. Too bad he didn't learn more from his Dad's favorite show.

on the disney cruise (halloween cruise) several years ago there was a young brother and sister-they dressed as cinderella and prince charming-mom AND DAD were done up as the ugly step sisters! it was a hoot seeing a grown man in a ball gown and wig-and the fact he had a full mustache just made him the BEST ugly step sister imaginable:lmao: :lmao:

Nothing wrong with that. I have friends who dressed for a convention earlier this year dressed as pirates. Their infant daughter was dressed as their parrot. It was so cute. :)

I don't understand - are we talking about Halloween or just in their everyday lives? :confused3 Either way, I don't know why it would be "crazy".

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. In fact we are that family! One halloween we even had the grandparents dressed up!!!!!! We have had some fun costumes over the years. Life is short! We are going to have a great time! Our kids love it and well, so do we!:cutie:
