I have a baby that will be a year old on Thursday. She started walking at 8 months and was running by 10. She seems to be fine mentally and developmentally, but lately she has been worrying my husband and I because she will run really fast and shake her arms and head back and forth, kinda like a really weird dance, but a large part of her body is moving, and then fall. Then once she falls, she cries. Is that part of the age?

Most of mine did that. They are all "normal". However, when my now 3yo was learning to walk, she would throw both of her arms straight up over her head. She looked like the monkey Clyde off of those Any Which Way movies with Clint Eastwood. "Right turn Clyde". It was the funniest thing to watch her walk.

The one year old's I baby sit go crazy sometime...They bang their heads against their car seats when music comes on and run around like crazy. They used to dance likek football players to.

It's fine. My son is 14 months and he's definitely crazy! He climbs on everything--and I mean EVERYTHING. He headbangs everything too. These kids are exploring their world and learning how their bodies work. I would be more concerned if a child that age just sat and didn't do anything "weird". If it would make you feel better, bring it up with the doctor at your 1 year well visit.
