Anyone use crayons for autographs? I was thinking of getting those thick ones, the "Kid's First Crayons" type. We use the standard Disney book and I don't like how markers kind of show through to the next page because the pages are so thin. I was wondering if crayons might work a bit better. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

A few of the princesses actually had their own crayons when we were there this past January. Cinderella signed in blue... that is all I remember at the moment, but they DEFINITELY had their own crayons. I think the crayons could be hard for some of the non-face characters to handle.... HTH............P

You may want to look into the fat ballpoint pens for the large characters. Although, I do remember that especially at the character meals, they would have a crayon in their hand or grab one off our table. But, I still like the fat pens. They don't bleed and they're easy to find!!:teeth:

Crayons would be OK in the "winter" months, but they wouldn't stand the heat outside during other times of the year.

When you first walk into the MK there is usually a cart there where they sell the autograph books along with larger (in diameter) ball point pens. I would pick one of those up. Some characters do not even use a pen such and Buzz and Woody. They have a stamp, and Bullseye, well he does not give out autographs...no hands!

Sometimes you can get fat twist-up crayons. They are a little bigger than regular fat crayons, and they are plastic, so they don't mark the characters gloves. I have found them at Walmart, but they don't always have them. Hope this helps.

We usually have a "fat" pen for the characters to use but check out my signature pic - :teeth:

I would suggest either finding or making an autograph book with thicker pages like index/recipe cards. Markers work very well and you can use different colours.

Just a thought, our last rip I did two things that worked out great
I bought a plain white tee-shirt (I put a mickey face on the front but yoy do not need to) and I bought permant black marker ( sharpies) and had the characters sign the shirt ( not while on the child!) and at the end of the trip and we where back home they were able to where it to school as a "show and tell" piece form their trip and it is a good keep sake!
The 2nd thing I tried was I brought my daughters favorite princess doll and the princess actually signed the back of the dolls dress, my daughter was thirlled and again she brought it to school to show her friends!

The characters only have their own crayons in the areas where crayons are provided for the children...ie. breakfasts.

Many people on the cruises do the white pillow case thing.
As for crayons. Many of the characters (excluding face one's) have a hard enough time w/ big, fat pens. So, I don't know how well they could manuever a crayon, as they are shorter w/ less leverage.

Thanks everyone. I found twist-up "crayons" from Crayola. They are as long as a pen or pencil and definitely fatter than a regular pen/pencil or crayon -- not quite as fat as a fat pen, but definitely fatter than a regular writing implement. And, since they are twist ups, they won't mark anyone's gloves or fur :) I'm goign to give them a try this trip -- and if they don't seem to working well, we'll just buy some fat pens or markers at one of the gift shops. Thanks for all the feedback!
