I can't be the only one this has ever happened to! It got everywhere! I actually managed to get it out of the clothes it stained pretty easy by washing them twice in very hot water, detergent and stain remover. The inside of my dryer however is a different story! The whole tub seems to be stained blue now! Even my magic eraser isn't touching it! I tried two different stain removers, greased lightning and kaboom also. Right now I have it running with an absobent cloth in there thinking maybe it will melt some and the cloth will catch at least some. Any suggestions at all would be great!! Thanks so much, here's pictures.

This is gonna sound crazy, but I have a solution for you. About 3 years ago the same thing happened to us...but the crayon was RED. We tried everything and then did this. Run the dryer for about 10 minutes on the hot setting. Open it up and wipe it out with a cloth sprayed with WD40. It took it right out for us. The only "kicker" is you MUST leave your dryer open for a few hours to let the fumes out and then clean it again with some 409 (to get rid of the grease).

It worked like a charm for us. After we cleaned with WD 40 and then later 409, I put in a load of rags and dried them before I dried anything else to be sure that there was no sticky residue.

Good luck!

Your dryer looks the exact same as mine! I think we have the same dryer.

And the color (blue too) was there for a long time! I did a load of older, darker clothes right after I got the darn crayon pieces off to make sure the color would not come off on the clothes and then just left it.

I just went and looked and mine still has a tint of blue! And the crayon happened last year!

That's the inside of my dryer too! I used straight rubbing alchohol. You're going to have to scrub w/ an old washcloth or old t-shirt (not a Disney one). You might want to have an oscolating fan running behind you b/c you will inside the dryer with those fumes.

Don't run a white wash for a couple loads just in case you didn't get all the blue out. Good luck. :shamrock:

Sorry if this is offtopic, but IT IS related to your dryer: Be careful of your sensor inside the dryer. I think I had too many buttons from shirts or strings from tops getting caught on the outer part of the sensor. The sensor actually bent and I eventually had to take it out b/c it was catching my clothes. I sorely miss that part of the dryer's features. Agian, forgive for being some what off topic.

Thank you so much for all the great suggestions. So far the only thing working well is the nail polish remover (acetone). I have cleaned things with WD40 before, so didn't sound totally crazy, but it won't touch this. I can't find my goo gone, I think that would probably work too. Looks like I need a solvent to break it down. I'm working on it slowly with the acetone, but only in short spurts as the fumes build up quick! :rotfl2: Don't need me those fumes to make me any goofier than I already am! Thanks again, I knew someone else would be able to relate and offer help!!

We just went through this last week! Ds left what must have been a 64 count box of crayons in his pocket and I washed and dried them. :sad2: I used soft scrub on mine and the crayons came right off. No problems at all except for the little crevices--I had to use my nails to scrape the hardened colors off there. Try soft scrub!

Just thought I would post a follow up to this on the strange off chance anyone else needs help with this, lol. We ended up using carb and choke cleaner for car engines, lol. Worked great! The dryer is actually almost white again. :thumbsup2

This exact thing happened in an episode of Big Love....but I beg you, don't take the advice of the episode. You'll have a fireworks display coming out of your house.

Oh the memories!! This happened to me when I was washing white school uniforms. It took a long time to get it out of my DDs shirts but the dryer was caked with melted crayons, so we took a hair dryer and melted the wax, it came right up after that. I'm glad you found something that worked. :thumbsup2

I've got you beat. Took my 2 DS's to WDW when they were younger for 10 days. Every night at dinner they would get one of those 4 packs of crayons and put them in their pocket. DW never checked when we got home and did the laundry. 2x10x4=80 crayons in the dryer=pop art. It's funny now 8 years later.
