Crane Behind Cinderella's castle

I just got back from a 14 day trip, and I noticed that around the 5th a crane was parked behind cinderella's castle. Anyone know why? It was never up during the day time however.

They are putting up the lights for the holiday season. I'm going for the first time during the holiday season in December and I can't wait to see them!

I was there Oct 06, and the crane was there the 1st half of the day. We wondered why most of the day, mainly bc it was spoiling our pics But when Tink flew from the top of the castle during the fireworks, we thought that's what it must've been doing, hooking up the cable. only guessing...

Last fall the gold ornamentation from the 50th was being removed from the castle during the daytimes. The crane was lowered at night and hidden behind the wooded barricades behind the castle, As stated earlier, I believe that the holiday lights are being installed right now.

We got an email two months ago about our wedding photography telling us the crane would be present in case we wanted to reschedule them.



If they were adding that wand though, I would cancel for sure!

Does anyone know if the walkway to the wishing well is blocked off again? We were there last October when the crane was there and this walkway was closed. My wife really likes making a wish here and was disapointed last year when she couldn't do it. We leave in 3 weeks and can only hope this walkway is open.

We saw it there in late-Nov. & early-Dec. '06 as well, but if I remember correctly, the lights were already up by then. Not sure what the crane was doing in that instance.

Last Oct-Nov the crane was there for the Cinderella castle suite construction. (The 50th anniversary castle decorations were all down by early September last year, but the crane was still there for a while.)
This year the crane is there because we are coming. (Four consecutive trips with the crane in our pictures...ugh!)

Seriously, this year it is there because they are doing up the castle with special fibre-optic(?) x-mas lights that supposedly won't be visible by day, but will light it up at night.

Nope. The cable is always there. Tink has been flying down from the castle for years. The crane is there for installing the lights for the holidays.

She won the castle in the divorce settlement from Prince Charming. It's Cinderella's Castle now!

Thats just plain wrong. She is the princess and deserves a castle? If it's not her's then where does she live?

The idea that they just named it after her is sad. Next your going to tell me there is no Santa or Easter Bunny. Thanks

On second thought. It can be your pet peeve but I still believe...... It's Cinderella's Castle and always will be to me and my family.


Technically you are correct according to the Disney Trivia book but we will alway's believe that it is her's. Why would they give her a carrousel and a royal table but not a castle. You cant live on a carrousel or sleep on a royal table.

I think this calls for a call to arms to give Cinderella a home.

Well, you COULD sleep on a royal table, but it wouldn't be very comfortable. As for living on a carrousel, you'd get dizzy pretty fast!

I say, let the gal have her castle!!!
