Crane at MK Castle to stay through March

I had to google it to see what the crane looks like. So will that monstrosity be looming in the back of every family photo for our Feb vacation or do they ever lower it during the day?

especially since after booking our first stay at a monorail resort we find out the monorail will be closed essentially the entire day.

it's not going to ruin our trip, but it certainly isn't going to enhance it either.

They need to put "magical lights" on it and have a robotic Tinkerbell or Dumbo "fly" up it on the hour.

I wonder if they'll still do fireworks that go with some of the castle shows (not Wishes/projection show but the musical numbers during the day)

Same boat as you, with it being our first monorail resort stay too.

People can mock all they want, but it seems like the disappointments keep coming for our trip. Kind of regretting not holding off until later in the year like we debated. Monorail going down, FP+ mess, and castle work all day long. Maybe if they had worked on the mine train with the same effort we could be riding it this trip to ease the annoyance of everything else.

It may be an "easy fix" in Photoshop, but not everyone has photoshop.

I'm bummed.
I just bought the memory maker thing 2 days ago- and it took a lot of convincing to buy it. And now, the crane will be in the background. Yes, the crane can be photoshopped, it's just one more thing I have to do.
And no it won't ruin my trip, but at the same time it just takes a little of the magic away. This is my son's first trip, and he just received his letter from Mickey inviting him to the park this weekend. So, its kind of a bummer that that I just wasn't prepared for.
I will live, I am just a little sad.
