Cranberry & Pineapple Continued.....Again.

Since the time changed we were up at 6am. We had packed the night before and Jeff put the suitcase outside the door. What Jeff did not realize was the fact he packed my shorts. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized he probably had packed my clothes I was going to wear off the ship. However, I did have some sweats in my carryon. I was lucky I had a teeshirt too. I was afraid it was going to be my Royal Caribbean PJ's. That would not have been good on a Carnival Ship. lol

We had our normal breakfast. I wish we would have done carryoff because we were ready by 7:15 to leave but had to wait an hour and a half.

We were in our car by 9:30 and on the road. We made excellent time. We stopped 3 or 4 times and once was for almost an hour for lunch. We were home by 6. That includes the Ticket Jeff got in SC. We were about 2 miles to NC. The hwypatrolman told Jeff he was clocked doing 84 which was impossible because Jeff had his cruise and the GPS had us going 70. We were still speeding. The cop could have been a jerk and wrote Jeff for the 84 and we would have been screwed because I have no clue how we could have proven that we were not going 84. Jeff was really nice to the cop but did tell him that he did not know how he clocked us at 84 and told him he had cruise and the GPS was regristering 70. He told Jeff well that was still speeding and Jeff said yes it was still speeding. He dropped it to 69 which should keep the ticket off our insurance. Jeff has not had a ticket since he was a teenager. He is 41. SC is known for this type thing so I think we are probably lucky to only have to pay $81.50.

Since we took Jeff's new car, which I hate to drive, poor guy had to drive all the way home. It is one of the new Taraus that you can not see out of the back window.

I unpacked most of everything. My mom went home. We were in bed by 9. lol

Jeff was off on Monday and he went to the doctor. He now has an antibotic.

Can't wait to go on the Carnival Dream now.

Selena - sounds like a nice relaxing cruise. I love to hang out at the pool all day! Weird set-up for the adult area, I am shocked they didn't have a bar there. What a bummer that Jeff was sick, was he able to enjoy it still? I love Mongolian Grills, they are the best. Thankfully the cop was pretty cool and only made it for 69, what a crappy way to end your vacation though!

Selena, I agree with the getting to the adult section. Surely they could have come up with some other set up. I got a big kick out of you smelling the pizza. When we stayed in the mtns last year they had a Subway in it. You could smell it all over the resort. LOL Then your PJ's. Too funny. Good thing you had your sweats!! Speeding ticket, ya right. I hate that they can get by with that and are known for it.

I had to go in and look at the Disney Dream. Oh you guys have me wanting to go so badly. I love the new adult venues they have made. The nightlife area looks so nice.

From my understanding the home base will be PC, right? I did not find that on disneycruiseline that is what we were told when we checked in at PC for the Sensation.

I had a friend come into my office and we were taling about the aquaduct coaster. It looks so cool.

Heidi and Sandy are on the first sailing. How long is that cruise?

Selena, the MV is for only 4 days so we are doing a back 2 back. I don't think that anyone really understands the "lazy river" part of it. I read a thread a couple of days ago wondering the same thing. Yes, it is going to be out of PC and take over the Wonder itineraries.

SC and VA are both known for their speeding traps and hitting you with big fines. Since we were speeding, what can we say. However, everyone around us was flying past us. I truly feel like he saw our tags and realized we would not fight the ticket. I feel positive he did not know about the GPS. We could say anything with the cruise but on the GPS it shows the speed you are going and it is rarely wrong. I think since Jeff was nice but told him he could not see how he was doing 84 since we had both to go by, he felt like he needed to rethink his trap. However, really he could have hit us with a ticket for 84. I do not see how we could have fought this type ticket. It still stinks. Jeff was more upset over it than I was. Which is amazing. lol

As for the Adult area...honestly what could they do? I think they thought that the idea would work and it does but seriously it is not very grand. They wanted to add it but they only had one point to put it. They also added a waterworks area which is a nice tube waterslide and then 2 waterslides that are side by side. They used the funnel deck for the waterworks. The funnel deck us to be the topless deck. They have the top of the slides there and it comes down on another deck. I really think they need to add a bar and at least a unisex bathroom.

I want to go so badly. That ships looks awesome!!! The only way I could do it is by going about year into the itineraries. Maybe we could go in the off season. I like Disney better when kids are not as heavily on the ship. My bad?

From what I am seeing, it appears the lazy river might be a tube? I can not quite figure it out. The tubes might be the coaster part. When are the sailings you are going on?

Selena - We are going on the 1/26/09 - 1/30/09, and then the 1/30/09-2/03/09. Kids are in school at that time, come with us!!!!!! It was cheaper for the second cruise. I think it was $1790 for Chris and I and we have a porthole.

That is a lot of money for one cruise. I can go on a 7 day on RCI or Carvial for that amount of money. BUT I would love to go!!! I think we will sometime but I will have to get one very lower Cat room.

Tell me everything you know about the ship. I am so interested. Let me see my DD will be graduating in 2011 and E will be in 2013. lol Maybe in 2014. lol Seriously though I do not see me waiting that long.

How do you book the Dream? I want to look at pricing and the threads just have me totally confused.

If you go on the DCL site, you will not be able to see the Dream prices until November 9th when it opens up to the public. Right now if you have Gold or Platinum status with the Castaway Club you book by calling DCL. It's been stated that all the inside room have already sold out, they are Cat 11's.

I am so interested in the Aquaduck and the new restaurants. The theming looks really cool in the new restaurants. It looks like they even changed Animator's Palate. Also the Walt Disney Theatre and the Buena Vista theatre are now on 2 decks so there will be a balcony.

I will have to look at the ship and the new Cats. I really want to go. We do love Disney but they have really gone so high in price. Royal Caribbean and Carnival's newer ships are able to offer enough to compare the two lines. However with the Dream, not sure how it will compare.

With work not allowing me off much anymore during the school year a 3 or 4 day cruise is about all we can do. Maybe in 2012 or 2013 when the hype and the other ship is out we can afford to take off in the fall to go acruisin' on the Dream.

One week ago today, Heidi and Chris came over to help me shovel. Today it is 75. I have the windows and doors open airing out the house. What a difference a week can make!

I think I have posted this before but we found a long time ago when cruising out of PC it takes us from start to finish to fly about 8 hours. We can drive it in 9. Of course we stop so that takes us another 30 minutes or hour more. It is just worth the drive. Either way you are tired. In a perfect world we get to leave early the day before the cruise.

I did not want to go repeating myself but I honestly could not remember if I had posted that before.

We just think it is worth driving when we are in more control of our destiny. lol

It is normally cheaper to drive but with gas prices so unsure it is still expensive to drive. In July there will be 3 of us cruising so it is much cheaper to drive.

Exactly. I really only post regularly on a couple of threads. Here and one on CC. I post on random threads but you just never know where a specific comment might come up.

I am on another roll call thread on CC but there is not much going on. It is for our July cruise. There seems to be lots of girls around Mac's age going and I would love for them to be able to chat but I have no idea how to suggest that without seeming a bit werid or stalky. Any ideas?
