Since we were not leaving the ship to debark we could skip the luggage call the night before.
When you do a B2B on the Monarch and do not have the same room you pack your suitcase and only put the hanging clothes on the suitcase. Your room attendant will move your stuff to the new room.
We did this then headed to the Windjammer for breakfast. We almost missed breakfast but got there in time to grab a few morsals.
We were given a letter a couple of nights before telling us what we needed to do n embarkment/debarkment day.
We arrived to Guest Services at 9:15, 15 minutes early. We were amoung 4 other "couples".
We could not leave the ship until everyone was off the ship. Once they are off and you are staying on for another cruise this is called in transit.
Around 9:50 Maria came to take us out. She walked us out thru security and to customs. You still have to go thru customs and fill out the paperwork but you do not take anything off with you. Well only a bag with your creditals.
On the way back on the ship we had an issue with my picture. The man behind us wound up as my picture. I was in front of Mac and this guy was behind her.
They let us see the picture set up and I saw no me, Mac and this dude. He was probably in his 60's and bald. lol
Once everyone had gone thru the picture area and back on the ship I was able to get my picture retaken.
Maria was so nice and told us when we got back on the ship that she was going to send us champagne and Mac some chocolate covered strawberries.
While in transit you really can not do anything. You can not go to your room. They can not sale you anything. You can not eat or even drink. Due to this I kept some water and gatorade.
After talking to Maria we went by the Loyality Ambassor desk. This cruise marked my 6th cruise which moves us to Platinum membership. I had researched and been told to see her and she could move our membership and give us the new coupon books. We were suppose to get robes and stuff but never did.
We mainly sat by the pool and enjoyed a nice leisurely quiet time without everyone on the ship.
It was fun to hear all the announcements that were being made to the staff.
Around 11 we ran down to make reservation for the waverunners at Cocoa Cay.
When we got down there they were letting people on the ship. We ran back up and ate lunch. Yes we were hungry. Can you believe that? lol
Then back to the pool for us.
I noticed that they did not have sushi by the pool on this cruise. I was told later that they had sushi brought around by waiters.
RCI is known for their Loving Cups. It is a special cup with a afterdinner shot or small drink in it. I never once saw this at the DR but did see it at the pool on embarkment day both times.
Once 1 arrived we headed down to our new room. We went from deck 8 oceanview obstructed to deck 9. My TA knows this ship from cruising on it so much so he made sure we had rooms that were not obstructed. I have to say I am spoiled the difference in size is amazing. I do not want to ever be back on deck 8 but then again it is the cheapest cat on the oceanviews.
We pretty much just enjoyed our time around the ship and the pool.
Muster was awful this time. It was very long and very HOT!!! However, Mac did see a cute guy she liked next to us. I will provide pictures that were taken the last day.
We ran back up for sailaway which was similar to the other one.
Dinner was the same but we had made reservations earlier by phone and the guy remembered us and made sure we had seats by ourselves and was with Eva. Eva had gotten a divorce in a day and had a new person helping her. He was so cute but not very good. However his smile did help to make up for his slackness. lol Poor Eva ran herself ragged trying to keep up.
Since Mac wanted to go to the Fuel and see if the cutie was there she and I seperated at the Schnoor bar. She had actually gone in to see about a table for us and found that the couple next to our favorite place was "saving"our place. I went in and sat down and they really were not nice about it. I reminded them there was no saving seats and was kind enough to point out the message about this on the overhead. Needless to say thru out the show they made ugly comments about me. I thought it funny since they allowed this to ruin their time. lol
After this I wound back up at the Schnoor bar. I was suppose to meet Mac here. I waited and when she came I could tell something was wrong. I do not want to get into this too much on there but I will say someone in Guest Services was very ugly to her and this really upset her. To make it worse this person was ugly to her twice and had her in tears.
I tried to handle it but he was not nice. Even his supervisor attempted to help us and have him apologize but he refused to do this twice. Lets put it this way, it really ruined over a day of Mac's cruise and wasted alot of our time.
After spending more than an hour attempting to handle this I allowed Mac to pick what we would do next. We wound up in the hot tub for an hour then we went to the 70's show.
We went to bed around 1 am.
The ending of this day really was not good.
