Selena - what a great idea, I didn't even think of the spa. I can take a shower up there and so can Chris, then the girls have the shower in the room. Thanks for the great suggestion.

I was disappointed last night, but today is a new day and I am back to being excited. Just yesterday seeing everyone on my meet thread go from either a Cat 12 to a Cat 9 or a Cat 11 to a Cat 7 made be feel jealous! I feel very privileged that I can even take the family on a cruise and would sleep anywhere just to get on the ship. Besides we only will sleep and get ready in the room. I have to get some nightlights for the girls because they are still scared of the dark. I think I will get a string of lights and put it up in the room for their nightlight!

Hmm, I am still scared of the dark too.

I thought I had told you guys the story before. So here it goes:

A few cruises ago, we stopped at Costa Maya because of the hurricane in Grand Cayman. I believe this was one of the first few times DCL had actually gone to Costa Maya. A few DISers and I booked the horseback riding excursion. We went on the excursion (it was horrible, horses sick, ocean trashy, etc). Got back to the ship to discover I had been attacked by some kind of bug/flea. I was wearing jeans for the horseback riding and I guess the insect must have continued on up the pant leg and ate me alive. I literally had huge red welts all over my body. They were enormous and covered my entire legs, arms, and back. Not only were they huge, red, and swollen, but they itched like crazy. I was using my mom's hydrocortizome cream like lotion all over my body, but even that didn't help. I ran up to the spa hoping they had something to help me out and they shrieked when they saw me. They looked at me like I had some type of disease, and said they couldn't help me. Thank god our friends were up in the spa when I went up there because they saw me and told me to come to their room and take a bath. They were in the Walt Disney suite and had a bunch of bath products. The mom made a bath for me and I soaked for a long time (while watching the TV in the bathroom). It helped the itching a little bit, but the big red welts were still there and lasted for the rest of the cruise. Everyone I came into contact with, looked at my legs and made this disgusted face. It was horrible! (But hey, at least I got to take a bath in the Walt Disney suite!!!)

Thanks everyone! I am now officially 40 and what better present than a story featuring a naked Funky Monkey (albeit with red, itchy welts, but I'll take what I can get). Tammy and I are heading out to hike in a little while so, hopefully, I'll have some photos to share tomorrow. Tammy found the perfect birthday card for me, too, so I may have to scan that and post it.

My friend Jeri called me 20 minutes before I got of off work yesterday and told me someone had just given her 4 fieldbox tickets to the Astros/Dodgers game last night. There was no way I was passing that up, Jeri her dh and i hit the road. We had a blast. Now I'm drinking redbull. But it wasn't too bad, I was in bed at 12:30. Astros won.

My heart is aching for Marcie. I was able to talk to her on the phone. Her mom passed away last night and just found out today. Bless her heart. It is a very difficult time for her. When I talked to her she was headed to her mom's, a two hour drive. She said she won't come back without getting answers. She said that if anyone wanted her that she could be reached on her cell and would not have internet access. I just feel so bad. That's the trouble of having friends not in the same city. You want to reach out, help and hug and it just isn't possible.

I forgot to add that Marcie's mom was sick for 4 weeks. Stupid me forgot to ask what she had. Marcie, you remain in my thoughts. Love you!
