Mmouse ~ Was that Joey Fatone of N'Sync in your pics? I thought he looked familiar the first time and then the second time I looked I showed my daughter and she said "That looks like Joey?!" I said I thought the same exact thing. Then she asked if it could have been him and I said yes. THEN she asked if you hung out with them.... I said I would find out since my job is Mother Mouse (got named this since booking the cruise!!!!). Thanks ! Still LOVE the pics. Also, were you there with your sisters? You all look like sisters!!! How fun!! I am going with my family and my sister and her family!!! Now you have me buzzing!!!!! :cool1:

Geez, work was heck today. I did not want to go to Curves because it was weigh in day and I did not think I would have any difference because of the cruise. I made myself go simply because I did not want to go. Figured I can not start that junk or I would never go. I went and I lost 1 1/2 lbs and 1/4 of a inch almost every where. 1/2 in my waist. Did not need to loss up top. :rotfl2: And I lost 1.5% in totaly body fat. I am so happy :cool1: I could not beleive it because I gain 4 lbs on the cruise and then I lost almost all of that to gain because I ate everything I wanted to this weekend. :Pinkbounc The work out did my stress level wonders.

My week is jammed. I have something almost every night. Wednesday the girls from work are going out. I have not been able to go for the last 3 times. I never meet anyone for the girls night out during the summer. So I am hyped to go, now I have to cross my fingers Jeff can get back from out of town in time to take Erik to weigh in for football. Otherwise I will ahve to cut it short. But I am still going even if it kills me!

Sandy you are so smart. I use to be when I stayed at home. I use to can strawberry perserves, green beans and tomatoes. I even use to make apple butter. I have a easy receipe for that one. But since I have gone back to work I can not find the time to can. I have only had one home grown tomato. I normally have a small garden but Jeff refused to help me get the garden ready this year. No fresh cucumbers, beans, btter beans, squash...nothing..........

I am sitting here having my one glass of wine for the night. It is a local wine. Pretty good if I do say so myself.

There are multiple versions but this one has the fewest igredients and is great !

3/4 oz Malibu rum

Yes, Joey Fatone was a special guest onboard....he got onboard in one of the ports and stayed about 5 days or so onboard....he sang at the Tropical Deck Party and also participated as Bon Jovi in 80's night in Rockin Bar D and hosted WWTBM. When he was not working he was just spending time with his family....we often passed him while he as having lunch on deck...people were very respectful of his privacy and did not seem to bother him...after his performance at the deck party he posed for pics with people and signed many autographs....

Another guest onboard for part of the trip was Mark Curry from the sitcome "Hanging with Mr. Cooper"....he did a show with the Muppets and was in Rocking Bar D a few times dancing with everyone....he was very approachable.

How cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: It just would be an extra to meet someone famous... but they are just people, so if I don't there is nothing lost!!!

Oh no, another one just like us. Welcome hjensen.

Selena, I would love the apple butter recipe as well. PLEASE?? You are so thin and don't need to lose weight. You are perfect. Don't go overboard!

The stars including Roy were very nice. I was impressed how they hung out just like everyone else. One group of DISers took their pics with Joey at Signals and jokingly (hopefully) talked about getting money for it from the Enquirer.

Welcome hjenson!!!! Another person to toast to girls!!!!!! :cool1: You will love it here with us!!! Oh, we tell our KIDS it's about juice!!! (Big people juice!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ). Glad you have joined the party!!!!

Selena~I agree... you are tiny and need to lose NO more weight.

Back to cleaning  Karen

When I get home I will look up the receipe and post it. It is amazingly easy. Only reason it takes so much time is the fact the cooking is done in a slow cooker/crock pot.

Selena, you have my interest! Anything done in a slow cooker is perfect.

Heidi, Harold and Oatie put apple butter on their grilled cheese sandwiches, too.

I love apple butter. grew up eating it mixed with butter on a hot scatch made biscuit. But on grilled chesse sandwiches....yuck.

Here is the receipe

Apple Butter

12 C chopped Apples with peelings left on
1 C Apple Cider

Cook in crok pot for 10-12 hours on low setting

Run through food processor. Return to crock pot
add to apple misture the following ingredients
1 3/4 C sugar
1 t cloves
1 T cinnamon
3/4 t ginger
(I put heaping amounts of each spices)

Cook one more hour on low setting in crock pot

Prepare jars by washing them and wash them in low heated oven
Prepare lids to seal per instructions on box
Fill prepared jars, wipe jar rims clean and top off with prepared lids.
Should seal with no problem. I sometimes will put the jars upside down to ensure sealing. If it still does not seal try warm water bath in a pot.

I use to make it and give this for Christmas gifts but then everyone wanted so so I stopped doing it.

Enjoy!

Help me brain storm everyone.

My boss had back surgery 2 weeks ago. We are taking her food Thursday. She has requested that we take her things she can freeze. She was a Home Ec teacher so I am having a hard time of thinking of stuff to cook. Her husband eats out for lunch everyday and likes to have a cooked meal in the evenings. I am going to take her food on a weekly basis. I have bought the Glad Ovenware to cook and she can freeze in this as well. Help me come up with things to cook. I made something called Grandma's casserole tonight. Very similar to lasagna but no ricotta. Extremely easy to prepare. I am a good cook but I am cooking for a GREAT cook. H E L P me. I thought about baked spaghetti one night and I have a receipe for mushroom hamburger steak. I think all will freeze easily and be good warmed up.

Thanks for your apple butter recipe. I will definitely have to make it. Heidi, whatcha doing some weekend? I have a recipe for you:

Chicken Alamo
1 lb Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage roll (or 3/4 lb), browned
1 cup raw rice
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 can drained mushrooms
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 pkg slivered almonds
Salt to taste
1 cup diced chicken, I just use 3 or 4 chicken breast that I dice and fry up in skillet.
1 soup can of water

Mix. Bake covered 2 hour at 325.

It makes a ton so I divide it in half and freeze one before cooking and bake the other. I have one in my freezer right now.

Oh wait Selena. I have a stupid question. Do you put the jars in a hot water bath and if so for how long?

Sandy that is not a stupid question. If you prepare the jars by heating them they should all seal this way. If I find one tha is having problems with sealing I turn it upside down. Then if that does not work I do the hot/warm water bath.

I will have to make this for her next week. This sounds good. Yummy

Sorry Heidi I have you busy now this weekend. But I can taste it now. A warm biscuit formt he oven. Threw a little butter on it and top with apple butter...yummy

I forgot I have a jar of homemade honey. My dad brought me that a month or so ago. Since we know who made it. We know the bees ahve not been fed. So it will not turn to sugar. I am going to have to make biscuits. I would love to make honey butter and top a hot biscuit with it.

Cool, I have never made anything that way. I will have to remember that!! Thanks!

I never had it on grilled cheese either until an elderly couple had me try it. Yummy. They top the grilled cheese sandwiches after cooking with whatever kind of jelly they have on hand. I never wanted to try it because it sounded so gross but they made me take a bite. I loved it. Heidi was the same way until I made her try it. Make yourself try it.
