Cranberry or Pineapple??

Thanks Heidi and Marcie. Even though it is a crummy day weather wise it is still a perfect anniversary.

Jrsy, don't you see? I am trying to get you to reveal yourself! :teeth: And yes, the apples I am looking for ARE the cut up ones in a sugar, red hot mixture. I did a recipe search (yay for me, a computer dummy) and found a few recipes. Today I went looking for Red hots. Do you realize how hard it is to find RED HOTS?? Albertsons had small boxes 5 for a 1.00.

Selena, a bed bug spray? Now that is something that would make me feel a little better while on a trip. It still doesn't solve sitting on or covering up with a bedspread or blanket on the ship or in a hotel. I get the willies just thinking about it.

Marcie, sounds like Extreme Home Makeover is really helping out. Let us know when it airs. I want to see it.

Here are a couple of the candied apple recipes that I found in case anyone is interested:
CANDIED APPLES

6-8 McIntosh apples
1/2 lb. candy cinnamon hearts
1/2 c. sugar
3 dashes cinnamon
1 stick cinnamon
1/2 c. water

Cut apples in half, core and pare. Soak in ice water 30 minutes. Heat on stove: candy, sugar, cinnamon, water and cinnamon stick. Boil 10 minutes. Pour over apples in a casserole dish and bake 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

CANDIED APPLE RINGS

2 c. sugar
1 c. water
2/3 c. red cinnamon candies
1 dozen whole cloves (or as desired)
5 to 6 firm apples (depending on size)

Mix syrup of first four ingredients in large fry pan. Peel and core apples. (I like them unpeeled if the skin is not tough.) Slice apples crosswise. Cook apples in syrup, turning often until tender. Watch carefully! Remove to deep platter and pour syrup over apple slices. Chill!

Good morning! Last night I asked my family if they could pick one place besides 'Ohana where would they want to eat at WDW. They both said Whispering Canyon Cafe. So, I made late diner reservations there for the night we arrive. We plan on spending the afternoon at DTD before dinner. We are eating at 'Ohana the next night. That will be our night before the cruise. I've been watching airline tickets and they are going up and down. I know what flight I want so I'm going to keep watching for a while.

I want to hear more about Cosmo!!!!

Marcie - I am watching the airfare go up, and up, and up, and then down for flights we can't take due to time getting off the ship. It was at $350/person roundtrip, the early flights departing MCO that we cannot take is $169/person. Wish I could get on that deal!!!!

Yes, ours have been averaging $300. Last night they had one for $200 but it was leaving Orlando at 8:25 and not getting home until almost midnight. Then still 1 1/2 hour drive from the airport. So we decided to hold out for the flight we want.

DW gets her Red Hots at King Soopers or Walgreen's. She says Brach's are the best.

Here is her "recipe":
Granny Smith or Red Delicious work well
Peel, cut in small cubes, add to dissolved red hots and water (enough water to cover them), let them simmer until they are soft and flavorful.

She doesn't say how much Red Hots to use, but I can ask if you want.

Cristi - we need your address if you want Cosmo, otherwise I would have to go screaming your name around the neighborhood hoping you would hear me!!! (or else I could just go to arrow and wait for you ;) if I had Cosmo)

:lmao: :lmao: I can just hear you now..... Arrow would be a good place to find me..... I am usually in the Rum section..... ;) I will PM you my email address and home address.

Welcome home Karen !!!!! Can't wait to read a trip report and see pictures....

Heidi, wow that was pretty scary with the accident. I am glad that you didn't get hit. I drive by that intersection all of the time. I think it is Parkhill that I turn on to go to Lilly Gulch. The kids did summer daycamp there last summer.

Yes, that's the street you turn on!!!!! I hate that intersection, even before I witnessed that accident due to the other accidents that I heard about.

I hope Karen can send Cosmo on to Selena soon, before it is too late!!!!!

Thanks so much. I have been hungry for thes and believe me, I plan to make them. Please thank DW for me.

Hi Cristi. Yep, you are in my neck of the woods when you go to Lilley Gulch. We have been here for 30 years. Can you believe it? It is hard to see it go downhill like it is now. DH doesn't believe in moving EXCEPT if we build on Lookout Mtn. We are having plans drawn up right now by Modern Log Homes on Youngfield and about 38th. You can see it from I70. It just depends on the $$$$$$.

Heidi, it only took UPS about 5 days from here to FL so if Karen gets Cosmo mailed off in about a week or so, Selena will be fine.

Well, a busy night for me. Cooking all the kids dinner and then watching Survivor and Beauty and the Geek. We are tivoing American Idol. Stacey's husband and Heidi's boyfriend share the same birthday. Isn't that odd? I baked a cake for the occasion.

That is odd. Happy birthday to Stacey's DH & Heidi's BF.

Selena :grouphug: Thank you for the Patty's day card. That was so sweet. Not long now, you will be cruising!!!!

Selena - that was so sweet to send us cards for St. Patricks Day. I wish I could be half as good as you at sending cards. That was very nice, thank you.

TGIF!!!!!! I really want to go skiing this weekend but Chris has the girls this weekend and I haven't been very good at spending time with them on Saturdays due to skiing. So I told them (after they begged) that I would go either skating or swimming with them on Saturday. BUT because of the snow, once again there will be powder up at the ski area that I am missing. I am so torn!!!!!!

So, parents, who have their children's needs and desires to consider 24/7, should we give Heidi our sympathy? :confused3

Are you familiar with that expression about the worlds smallest violin? :charac2:

I'll think of you this weekend when I am at home because DS still cannot seem to shake that stomach bug.

:wave2: Hello everyone. It is a cold day here in CO and predicted to get some snow. A good day to stay inside and get some bank statements done.

Heidi, no need to worry about decisions now. Dad just called and is meeting someone up at the house tomorrow to check about drilling a new well. Enjoy the girls. :lmao:

Selena, thanks for the card. It was so thoughtful of you. You always amaze me. :grouphug:
