The thing I love about the Ricardo luggage available at Costco is that it is FROM Costco......and their satisfaction guarantee is the best I have seen, bar none. We have three sets of this and have loved them all. My only complaint is that the biggest piece is just too darn easy to pack over 50 lbs. in......so you have to really check weight, not how full it is. We learned this the hard way at the airport.

Hi guys, we have the news on and was thinking of Karen. Gosh, I just can't imagine what you Southern states have to go through. Blizzards don't cause destruction, just an annoyance. All we need is food & plenty of prescriptions on had and you need so much more. I can't fathom what you have to do before and after.

Thanks for the tidbit about luggage. Both Heidi and I need to replace luggage. Both sets have a great reputation. Did either of you, Selena & Marcie, get a warranty for free replacement? I think that man said his warranty was for 5 years.

JUst had to check in and see if Karen posted.

Theres some type of warranty. Since having it it has goneon four cruises, 2 trips to Florida (WDW), 4-5 trips to Myrtle Beach, a few trips to the mountains and lord knows where else that I can not remember right now! :rotfl2: It has held up great. I can not tell I have used them any.

I live about 4 hours fromt he coast, Sandy, but we normally get it from whatever hits NC, SC and Florida. Our mountains take a beating from hurricanes from Florida.

Did you just take a few things out and put it in another case? I hope you did. This can save you money. I love their luggage. I wish I would have bought it again this year when they had it available with the coupon. I am kicking myself now. I just did not have the extra $100 at the time. It is hard when you do not work summers and do not get a paycheck. :rotfl2:

I still have not heard anything yet...sorry. I was hoping we would know something by now so I could put Heidi out of her curiousity. At this point I do not care anymore. We go thru this about 2 - 3 times a year and after a few weeks we don't care anymore.

Gosh, is the storm threatening WDW? That I didn't know.

Thanks for the advice on luggage. Heidi, we have to go shopping at Costco on your next day off. We have a big piece of luggage, I believe a 36" but it weighs a lot before packing so that takes from our actual packing. We just choose not to use it now. My hubby thinks that because of the weight restrictions and not being able to cram things in that it causes the suitcases to "cave". It makes sense to me. It doesn't have the support that way. The corners is what breaks on our luggage.

Selena, it is funny that you brought up your surprise. I was just thinking about it yesterday.

Will check back in today and see how Karen is doing.

Hey, Lulu. Where are you?

Prayers to everyone. I hope Karen is out of the way of danger and I sure hope Marcie and Selena's trip will not be ruined by Wilma.

Yes mom, we do need to start shopping for luggage and when we get it guess what, I am storing them at your house!!!!!

Aww Selena, I am sorry you haven't had your good news come true yet, still praying for you (and for me because I hate waiting!!!!)

...and birth control. ;)

Haha I was wondering the other day if there will be a baby boom 9 months after hurricane Rita. :rolleyes1

I can tell you this Erik was born 9 months after a nice snowy winter....remember the exact time he was created :rotfl2:

Yeah bunches of birth control!!

Sandy and Heidi, I can say what I typed earlier about my surprise is how I felt at the time and dang if Jeff did call and tell me some news that has be thinking well maybe everything is for a reason!! He got an update on what is going on with my surprise....now I am excited again....just do not want to have to give you guys bad news.

Cancun is suppose to take a major beating from Wilma. I read one report to say that the actual storm can be there for as long as 30 hours before heading back out to sea and Florida. Wow our hotel is on the slice of land that faces the ocean and has the bay behind it. I doubt we will be going. Good news is that Funjet has cancelled the next three days of packages and are refunding them the whole amount back. We did buy tripinsurance...thank you goodness, but I still and hoping the hurricane will drop to a 3 and speed up or at the least not go back to a 5. But if the sucker would just speed up we might be ok.

Karen I hope you are fine. I am thinking about you and I am sending you an pm now!!

If I count back 9 years and 9 months from this past Tuesday, the date coincides with a major snowstorm in the Northeast, where DW & I were living at the time. I have heard that there were a lot of Blizzard Babies that year. Sure beats shoveling snow!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Jrsyboy!!! Makes me want to move back to New York!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
OK guys going to the concert now. I will let you know the update on the hurricane tomorrow morning and also brag about how great the concert was... sorry Sandy..

I'm here! I haven't been on my computer since Sunday! I am so busy- my boss just asked me to work a new program which means I have to get to school by 7:30 instead of 8:30. I will get paid extra, though. I am also working at Curves 3 days a week now after school until 9. I'm used to do my Avon paperwork and online work little by little, now I spend all Friday getting it in. I'm really overwhelmed, but I do need the money, so I"m glad. Anyway, I would love to talk to you guys some more and I will be back on tomorrow while doing my Avon stuff, so we'll catch up then.

Everyone better have some interesting stories, and some drink recipes for me by then!!!

And about the storm babies- Exactly 8 months before I was born (I was born a month early) my parents were on a vacation in Portugal and Holland. Storms and vacations, I guess. lol. The funny part is it was a trip my brother won in a raffle and gave my parents, so I owe my existance to a raffle ticket, in a way, lol.

Anyway, I will be back on tomorrow. I miss you guys!

Lulu, how funny about you and a raffle ticket!! Gosh, do you ever have time to just sit?

JrsyBoy, anything beats shoveling snow!

Karen, brag, brag. Can't wait for you to tell me all about the concert...."So good, so good, so good". Probably only you and I can relate to "so good"!! Ahhhh, gotta love Sweet Caroline! Hey, do you know the movie Johnathan Livingston Seagull?

Selena, good luck with Cancun but I hear they are going to get slammed. Are you sure that tripinsurance will cover it?

I have to admit that I feel guilty here in CO and Marci, Selena and Karen have been affected by the hurricanes in one way or another.

Sandy...I Loved the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull!!! Never saw the movie though.

Neil Diamond sang the songs in the movie. It pretty much had songs and a bird flying around. It was pretty cool. A very unique movie. I think it was around 1973 or 1974. My BIL said he didn't like it because it was just a dumb bird flying around. He didn't think deep.

That's what I was wondering, if the movie didn't come across that deep. The book did, but I could see where the movie would just seem like a bird flying around.

Oh yeah Cancun is going to get slammed! No way around it. Jeff called FunJet tonight and talked to them. They said by Sunday we will know something. At this point it is up to the airport and the hotel. Ya know if the airport is not opened we can not fly in and if there is flooding or damage to the hotel we can not stay. This is what the TA told Jeff.... :rotfl2: I am just so disppointed though. We have wanted to go to Cancun for 8-9 years. At last we finally do it and the hotel was to be so nice....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :sad1: I was so hyped about it. Jeff and I was dancing in the kitchen last night all excited...embarrased the kids... :rotfl2: And now...I think it is pretty much out of the question now. I just do not see how a Cat 5 storm can hit and have anything left of our hotel. I know if we donot get to go it is God's way of telling us we did not need to go, but heck I really was looking forward to it!

I did find a good deal to DR Punta Cana for almost the same amount. It is just not as nice of a place. We called that TA tonight and they could not tell us when that deal would stop. I mean we are talking about next weekend. A week from tomorrow is our departure date!

Jeff is saying if we can not do either one of those we will do something...
BUT to be frank, I was so excited about Cancun I am going to be disappointed no matter what else we do. He is talking about Florida or even to the beach. Florida might would be ok if they are not slammed. But I can go to MB anytime. I do not care to waste my money on that!!

Sandy, yes our insurance will cover it, but Funjet is really awesome!! IF you go to their site you will see that if a vacation is cancelled due to Wilma they are being wonderful. Refunding money without the insurance. No cancellation fees either!!! They will let you transfer to another vacation as well. You just have to pay the difference. Only thing about that I am curious to see if they will try to slam you and raise prices because they know everyone who booked is wanting to do something and they can stick it to you.

Otherwise I am watching travezoo like a hawk to see what I can find. :guilty:

Oh poor Selena, I'm sorry. Hopefully everything will work out for you.

Mom - I know so good, so good. I learned it on DCL when they use to do dueling pianos.

Good morning everyone! :wave2: How is everyone? Selena... I feel so bad for you... :confused3 but at least we won't have to worry about you beeing stuck there!
Sandy.... I thought about you last night (and all my Dis friends) when Neil was singing the JLS song and had a clip of the bird on the big screen. I HAD to smile thinking of you!!! :) I dopn't think I ever saw the movie... but my memory is so bad anymore. But watching that clip and listening to him play and sing was wonderful. He missed a few of my favorites but the old guy did pretty good. He sounded exactly the same but he DID rearrange the songs a bit as to make it easier for him. When you get used to singing a song one way and then they switch.... it is a bit weird. But overall, it was a wonderful evening and I had a great time. VERY nostalgic.
I am still here in Florida waiting for whats her name to figure out if and when she is coming. I just wish it would get over with. Noone in our neighborhood has put up boards yet, so I will wait til tomorrow or Sun to see exactly what is happening and if I even need them up.
Aside from that I hope everyone else is doing fine. I will keep you posted although I work tonight and then am meetingh up with my sister in law who is visiting from Ft. Collins (Mead actually I think) Co. She was going to leave Sun but is leaving tomorrow afternoon. So... my weekend is a busy one but I will keep in touch. Love to all, :grouphug: Karen

Poor Selena, I know you must be disappointed because you had your mind set at Cancun. At least they are working really good with you!

Karen, I thought of you as well last night. A bit jealous. He put on a good show for us but you could tell that he was losing his youthfulness. I am not sure if I knew you had a sister from Ft. Collins (Mead). Heidi and I must get together with her so she can tell us stories about you. :rotfl2: Heading out but will check back in and see how the storm is doing. Take care.

:grouphug: Hugs to all.
