Cranberry or Pineapple?? Part 2

It is cold and very windy. Ted and I are staying in and watching movies. I made the best prime rib for dinner tonight. Sorry, I just had to toot my own horn. It turned out perfect. Later we will have some popcorn. Don't tell Heidi.
I love prime rib! I don't suppose you saved me any...

We spent NYE at home after running errands all day. Ate lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, burned through a few gift cards and tried to find some recycling bins that weren't full to drop off boxes and used wrapping paper. I made California rolls for dinner (our NYE tradition) except for Alex and we worked our way through a bottle of champagne as we watched The Santa Clause 2 and some other TV before welcoming 2008 and going right to bed.

No hangover for me!

Jrsy, :confused3 sorry but we have managed to get through most of the prime rib. We have never been to California Pizza Kitchen. What do you think of it? We, too, searched for empty recycle bins. We now know that the ones at Walmart on Quincy and Wads get picked up on Mon, Wed & Fridays and that it benefits the Shriners Hospital. Ted was dropping off some cardboard about a month ago and talked to the guy. I can proudly say, too, no hangover for me!! We bought champagne but didn't drink it. I was too worried about weight.

We watched a couple of movies for NYE, too! LOL! ;)

I am being driven insane but, I only have a couple of more days to go........ :sad2: I'm not used to people answering their cell phones in the middle of a conversation and then talking on it for at least an hour at a time!!! Several times a day!!!! Sometimes she will stay in the same room and other times she will jsut stand up and go upstairs while talking on the phone.....

Never up before noon.... usually closer to 2...... I told her that I go upstairs by 9pm. And then I shut my door. :goodvibes

Oh no Stephanie, I forgot all about your house guest. I bet you will definitely find the "no" word next time she asks!!

I made it though my workout at the gym. :thumbsup2 I took it easy but I think I'm going to be sore after not working out for 3 weeks. Okay off to take cough medicine.

Oh want to hear something aggravating. Apparently they have made some law in Texas where you can only buy so much decongestants a month. Well the doc told me to take Claritan D or Drixoral. I bought both and bought enough for Aerial too. I've been giving her the Claritan D and now I'm out. So, I didn't want to take the sleepy Drixoral so off to Walgreens I go. They refused to give me anything with pseudoephedrine saying i've met my 30 day quota. I couldn't even buy the 5 day supply. Guess I will just have to take sleepy Drixoral.

Marcie - they do that in Florida too. Chris's sister and I went to Walgreens to buy some cold medicine and they took her license and ran it through some system to make sure she hasn't gone past the limit. Her and I were so suprised. Here in CO, they just ask me if I am 18.

Jrsy - what a nice New Years. I like California Pizza Kitchen.

Stephanie - how old is the person you were describing? Sounds like you are having an interesting time.

Have you been to Boston's? It is very similar. Basically a lot of variety in the pizzas and there always seems to be something new. There is also salads and pasta.

Jrsy, I have been to Boston's and loved it. Now Ted, that is a different story. All he ever wants or expects a pizza to be is a meat lovers. In his mind a pizza isn't a pizza unless it is a meat lovers. I love all different kinds. Ever try the mac and cheese pizza at Cici's?

Marcie, your post about the meds surprised me. What about a mom (like you) that has to buy for kids? What if you had two or three kids? I am sure that Aerial is long past the kiddie meds. Wow, those druggies have sure messed up our lives!

Heidi, thanks for your email. LYMI

I think it is a federal law --- blame the meth addicts! UGH!!!!!

In her 40's!!!!!!!!!! A grown woman should know better then to behave this way!!!!!

Kids wouldn't be taking these types of medications.

Marcie, Costco doesn't run a license they just use your license to fill out the form. CVS is the only place around here that i know of that runs your DL through a scanner. Just an FYI!

Oh no Stephanie, I forgot all about your house guest. I bet you will definitely find the "no" word next time she asks!!

I may get caller ID just for that reason!!!!!! And I really thought I was telling her *no* --- I told her that it wasn't a good time and that she should wait until after we move. That this would be the only week all school year that the kids and I had free time. Wouldn't you think I was saying no???????

This was last night ---

I got about 2 hrs of sleep last night -- one hour at a time. She was in the hallway & guest bath (with door open) talking really loud from midnight to about 1:30........ Then again abut 3am for another hour or so -- but that time I got up and slammed my door and said really loud *I can't believe how rude some people are!!!* Dh did try to cover my mouth. ;)
She uses one of those head pieces to talk on the phone instead of acting like a normal person and talking into the phone itself!!!!!!

During the midnight to 1:30am *talk* she was actually saying some kind of rude things about ME!!!! Yesterday within 20 mins of coming downstairs (she doesn't get up until after noon) she was talking on her phone in my living room while we were watching a video in the den that she told the kids she wanted to see!!!! (one of the shows the kids were in....). She was speaking so loud that we could hear every word that she said....That was at 1:00, I had leave to meet the builder at 2:30 and when I came home at 4 she was still on the phone!!!!!! Samantha said that she was telling the person what kind of food I cooked and kept in the house ---- the first day she was here she told me that she eats *organic*, etc..... and told me that she needed a wider variety of vegetables then I kept and she needed a different type of oil then I use (actually she told me how terrible the oil I use is for my health - it's vegetable oil for goodness sake!!). I did NOT go and buy her new food!!! I didn't invite her here!!!!! I told Jon that if this was someone that I had invited and that I cared about I would do whatever possible (within reason) to make them comfortable BUT, someone who invites themselves should be prepared to take whatever they get!!!!!
She also complained about the type of yogurt I give my children -- Dannon. It turns out that I should only buy my yogurt at the health food store! :rolleyes1

And when I told you that I had only talked to her a one time in 12yrs that means not even a Christmas card from her! No communication AT ALL!!!! Until she wanted to stay with me this week.....

She has told me at least 5 times everyday that she is too cold in my house (I told her that it was set at 73 and I wasn't making it warmer). If it wasn't for the fact that I don't want to freeze my children I would set it at 60 the entire time she is here!!!!

I can't believe that my only free time this entire school year has been spent feeling like a prisoner in my own home!!!!!

You'd think I would be the same way, being from the east coast, but I love to try the different styles at both places: Thai chicken, Greek, Cajun...

I have never been to Cici's. Tammy, her mom and Alex had been a couple of times then saw some of the workers handling dirty dishes then handling food without changing gloves. That was enough for them, but then two families we know from Alex's school got very sick after eating there, same location but different times.

Jrsy - Eww, yuck about Cici's. The girls LOVE CiCi's, I LOVE their macaroni and cheese pizza and their spinach pizza but that's it. Plus they have the best cinnamon rolls. I am scared to know which one Tammy saw the nasty stuff happening at. I love to try new pizza too. Have you tried the different pizza at Old Chicago? They have a really good black bean one.

Stephanie - wow, I thought you were describing someone who was 16 not 40. What a horrible experience.

I am wondering how Selena's cruise went. I would love to do a NYE cruise.

My 16dd is pretty horrified by this woman's lack of manners...... And this woman was telling me how horrible her sister is to her --- I know for a fact that she used to stay for a month or more with her sister in the summer.......
I'm thinking her sister got tired of her behavoir and told her so!!!!!

It isn't the one closer to your neighborhood; it is the one at University and Dry Creek. That is the one where the friends from school went, too. Just keep your eyes open when you are at the one by you next time; if everything looks OK, then it probably is.

It has been a while since I've been to Old Chicago so I can't remember if I went with something different on my last visit. Sometimes I am in the mood for some real New York style pizza, so I have to go with something like a meat lovers. We ordered in from Anthony's a lot when we were working all that overtime a couple of summers ago. Also, you can't beat Beau Jo's for something different. I think it was the first place I knew of that put BBQ sauce or ranch dressing instead of just tomato sauce on some pies.

I love Beau Jo's but can only eat at the one in Idaho Springs. It seems like a crime to eat somewhere else in Idaho Springs for me!!! Yummy crust with honey. I did go to the Beau Jo's off C-470 and University for their buffet a long time ago but just seems different than Idaho Springs.

Jrsy, it is totally your fault. I have been thinking about pizza all day. The Cici's by us closed. The only ones around is Bear Valley and the one you mentioned. Ewwww, that one sounds so horrible and we were thinking about meeting our other daughter, Stacey, there sometime. It would be closer for them coming from Monument. Ummm, NO, not anymore. Have you ever tried any pizza places in North Denver. Good Italian cooking at it's best. I used to eat there before it scared me to enter the neighborhoods.

Stephanie, I would think the teens could take the kind of meds that Marcie is having trouble with. That is what I meant. Your friend sounds like a person that takes advantage of people. If I were a vegan, vegetarian or strictly organic kind of person, I would NEVER expect anyone to buy "special" food just for me. I would ask if they would mind taking me to the store OR just keep my mouth shut. I know that you have now learned a lesson. In fact, I think she has too. I bet she realizes your feelings now. I guess with her beating around the bush is not good. If she asks again, firmly say no and that it wouldn't work with your schedule or be honest and say that it was hard on you the last time.
