Thanks guys!! I am doing better today, still upset but no tears!! Chris said we should just do it on the Friday June 6th, that way we save $1000 but I am just not sure if out of town guests will want to come Friday because they will have to take off work. I don't know.

Makes me happy to think that you are doing better Heidi. We weren't out of town guests but Maggie's turned out great!

I can imagine how upset you are right now! I really hope you find a satisfying alternative to your original plans.

Chris and I decided we would take June 6th....so that is now our new date!! Not as unique as 6/7/8, but we get to save $$$ which leaves more money for alcohol!!!!!

Chris is sitting at the airport, waiting to go to FL for the weekend.

Hugs to Heidi! I am sorry that happened with the wedding, but at least you will have more money for the honeymoon!

Brad got a job!!! (insert the woo-hoo guy here, I can't get smilies to work). He will be working at the VA hospital in the pharmacy dept doing their computer support. It sounds like the perfect job for him, computer stuff, but with a pharmacy twist. Now, it is the govt., so getting the paperwork through HR is going to take awhile. His tentative start date is July 9th. It sounds really good though. M-F 8-4:30.

Congrats to Brad!!!!!

Heidi, I'm glad you got your new date, and you get to save money. :goodvibes

I miss all my monkeys!!!!

Hey now...remember I work for the govt in HR so be careful what you say about those HR people. ;) At my Bureau, the paperwork after a selection is made is the easiest and the fastest!!!

Is it a Contractor position or a civilian position? Do you know what is his title and series? Is he a GS-2210 for IT? Okay I'll stop my HR self is kicking in!!!

How are you doing Marcie? You haven't posted in awhile, we missed you!!!

Where has Selena gone?

For what it's worth, Heidi, the last Friday wedding I went to worked out really well because I flew in on Thursday night, went to the wedding and reception on Friday then had all of Saturday to see family before flying out on Sunday. I'd guess that people coming from a distance may appreciate having an extra day in town. Anyone who complains (especially about a day off from work, sheesh) is probably just looking for something to complain about.

I am sure at your Bureau the paperwork is very fast since you are there. :) The lady in the pharmacy said that it usually takes 3-4 weeks for all of the paperwork to be in place. I think his position is actually a pharmacist position instead of an IT position (they were looking for a licensed pharmacist). He got his transcripts sent in yesterday and a copy of his pharmacist license. I think there will still be some sort of salary review board or something to decided what paygrade he starts at.

EEEK, that is a long time. I wonder what takes them so long? But hey he got the job so it doesn't matter how long!! :woohoo:

Jrsy - your statement is worth a lot!!!! I am glad it worked out for you and hope others have your same opinion!! So have you gone out and had a wild time yet? :thumbsup2

Many times...or were you talking about with my two HS buddies? They aren't coming to town until July 19.
Yes, I was talking about your HS buddies. I thought it was June they were coming out!!!
