Thanks guys!! I am doing better today, still upset but no tears!! Chris said we should just do it on the Friday June 6th, that way we save $1000 but I am just not sure if out of town guests will want to come Friday because they will have to take off work. I don't know.
Congrats to Brad! That job does sound perfect for him!!

Yay Brad!!! Way to go!!! WOO HOO.Brad got a job!!! He will be working at the VA hospital in the pharmacy dept doing their computer support. It sounds like the perfect job for him, computer stuff, but with a pharmacy twist.
Hey now...remember I work for the govt in HR so be careful what you say about those HR people. Now, it is the govt., so getting the paperwork through HR is going to take awhile. His tentative start date is July 9th. It sounds really good though. M-F 8-4:30.
At my Bureau, the paperwork after a selection is made is the easiest and the fastest!!!For what it's worth, Heidi, the last Friday wedding I went to worked out really well because I flew in on Thursday night, went to the wedding and reception on Friday then had all of Saturday to see family before flying out on Sunday. I'd guess that people coming from a distance may appreciate having an extra day in town. Anyone who complains (especially about a day off from work, sheesh) is probably just looking for something to complain about.Chris and I decided we would take June 6th....so that is now our new date!! Not as unique as 6/7/8, but we get to save $$$ which leaves more money for alcohol!!!!!

Is it a Contractor position or a civilian position? Do you know what is his title and series? Is he a GS-2210 for IT? Okay I'll stop my HR self is kicking in!!!
The lady in the pharmacy said that it usually takes 3-4 weeks for all of the paperwork to be in place. I think his position is actually a pharmacist position instead of an IT position (they were looking for a licensed pharmacist). He got his transcripts sent in yesterday and a copy of his pharmacist license. I think there will still be some sort of salary review board or something to decided what paygrade he starts at.EEEK, that is a long time. I wonder what takes them so long? The lady in the pharmacy said that it usually takes 3-4 weeks for all of the paperwork to be in place.
But hey he got the job so it doesn't matter how long!!
