Stephanie, we are staying at the Occidental Grand Excaret. The Apple Vacations rate the resorts from 1-6 red star. This is a gold 5 star. Gold because it earned a special recognition from both Apple and their travelers. When we were in Antigua this past Sept on the Wonder we booked the Occidental Pineapple Beach Daypass and fell in love with it the short time we were there. Mexico costs about 2,500.00 less that Curacao. Of course the airfare is much higher. She just randomly priced out Curacao for us because I want to go back there so bad.

Help, we have to dress nice for some dinners. What would that be for Feb? Skirts and short sleeves? Dressy black pants with a nice sparkly black wide strapped tank? Dresses? I think I will only pack one or two and if we go more than a couple of times, I guess they will have to see me in it twice! There are 11 restaurants on the premises. Seven hundred something rooms. This place is huge I bet. No one would know how I dressed the night before. lol

Mom - if any restaurants are on the beach or outside it might be a little chilly so pack a sweater. I know when I went to Mexico in January a long time ago I froze with my spaghetti strap dresses.

I don't know what part of Mexico you were in -- Cancun is alot warmer then the Pacific side.

I would think any of the things you mentioned would be great. With that amny resturants there's a good chance no one will have seen you the night before.

The Colts won the superbowl. I thought it was a pretty good game. Not very many funny commercials that were memorable.

I liked the Bud Light commercial with the Rock, paper scissors. Also I laughed at the Blockbuster one with the mouse.

With the new airlines restrictions relaxed a tad, what is top amount of ounces one can bring on in one bottle? I don't want to get sick and I heard to bring saline spray. This one is 1.5 oz and I think you can only take on 1 oz on board. Anyone know for sure? Of course, I am bringing the old standby Airbourne.

I was on a wild goose chase last night and today. We get one free entry to the Excaret park and they ONLY allow biodegradeable sunscreen in the park. They actually search you and if you have the wrong kind, they will throw it away. I finally found it this morning. Cristi, for your info if you ever need it, it was at Vitamin Cottage.

Woo Hoo Sandy that is wonderful about Cancun. Jeff wants to go there pretty badly. Remember that is what we had booked when the hurricane came through the area a year ago last October. I will want to know all about it and the hotel. Take notes! Do I need to special deliver you a handy dandy notebook? (Blues Clues).

We leave in one week. Next Wednesday is going to be a busy day. I will have to have everything packed before I go to work Wednesday. I am working a half day. I get off at 11:30. I will have enough time to run home and eat, then go to the doctor and then the dentist. As soon as we are done at the dentist Jeff and I are hitting the road. We should be in Florida by midnight. We decided to drive straight down and use points for a hotel. We were able to book a nice hotel for free that has cruise parking and a free shuttle.

I have most of my clothes picked out. Bahamas is not normally real warm this time of the year so I will be please with 70's in the day.

Sandy I am taking a pair of black pants and black capris. I have two new shirts picked out to take.

Did I tell you guys about the blinking beer mugs? Jeff wanted some for the cruise. I ordered two and they are so cool. He loves them. Well as much as a guy likes stuff like that. lol

OK I booked another cruise yesterday. lol I am going to cancel one I have already booked. I am just waiting to the last minute to do so in case if I change my mind. The one I am looking at cancelling is a group cruise and I would hate to miss out on the group amenaties. The new one is a group cruise to but it has alot of better perks with this booking.

Dane was joking around asking me where I wanted toe at for my birthday and he named Houston, Keemah and NYC. I said, yes NYC. Well I was looking at travelzoo and spotted a special from jet blue. Houston to NYC one way is $59, I went to the site and Dane and I could fly to NYC Saturday and come back on Sunday for $268 total for both of us. I wish we could go. It would be fun. But, he has to go out of town on Sunday. I'm sure we will go somewhere nice though.

Selena, I know you are going to have a blast on your cruise.

Heidi, it's a phone then you flip it up and it has another screen and a keyboard where you can type your text messages without using the numbers. The tracking says it will be here tomorrow. I can't wait.

Wonder how Jrsy and family & Cosmo are doing.

Oh my gosh. I loved Jill and Matt. We shopped a little with them at Barbados, went turtle snorkeling with them and hung out at CC too. I think they are absolutely the sweetest! I hope we take the east now!

Hi, guys! I am still around! I have like no time to myself at all, but just wanted to drop in and say hi. I have work until 9:30 tonight again. I am applying to grad schools, studying for the MAT and grading and teaching, etc. etc. as usual. I will hopefully get into grad school and quit one of my jobs very soon - I wanted to wait until Sept. to quit but I don't think I can. It will not be easy without the extra bucks but I don't know if I can keep going on 4 hours of sleep a night. II need to find the courage to quit and the courage and stamina to do without the extra income and budget a little better. I hope everything is great with you guys and I will do a trip report . . . eventually, lol. Maybe Spring Break.

I called the resort direct and one lady told me "no open toed shoes". So I was frantic last night and decided to call again this morning. The new lady said no dress sandals are ok and the "dress" is elegant and really all they want is just no beach attire. Wow, now all that is contradicting! Last night the lady said that all Ted needed for dinner was a collared shirt. She said Polo's are fine. This morning the lady told me that ladies have it easier than men. Huh? All they have to wear is pants and a polo and we have to wear elegant. What do you guys thing about just a skirt and top. Not elegant but not beach attirre. I have a dress to wear as well.

That Pacific side is always colder then then Carribean side (Cancun, etc..)! Like to snorkel so, he isn't a fan of the Pacific side. We stayed at Las Hadas (near Manzanillo) when we went to the Pacific side.

It is a 4 day cruise. Leave on Thursday and come back in on Monday. That is about all I could get off work for.

The kids have the flu. We have had a busy day. Or should I say I have had a busy day.
