I don't know how deep the snow would have to be to stop the light rail, but I suspect if it was deep enough most of the area would be shut down, anyway; there'd be no place to go! I don't remember it shutting down for that St. Patrick's day blizzard back in '03 or so.

Wow, that blizzard shut everything else down. I remember they were telling everyone to stay off of the roads. Did any of you guys lose power with that one? We still had our power, but lost the cable tv. I remember trekking through the snow to Blockbuster before they closed.

Hey, when do we get to open our ornaments? Mine has been sitting here since Saturday and I am very antsy to open it.

It's 72 degrees here but by noon a cold front is supposed to be here and by 4 it will be in the 40s.

My ornament has been saying "open me" for a few days. I'm just waiting for the word.

Jrsy - were you stuck on the light rail yesterday? I heard on the radio this morning something about a switch being stuck and power down so people had to wait for an hour?

I never heard anything about that. Was that morning or evening? My train was on time both times. One of the problems with riding the light rail, though, is that when things do go wrong, no one ever tells you what is going on. You can stand there waiting for an hour and no one bothers to come and tell you "The light rail isn't running, find another way to get where you need to go."

We seem to lose power at the drop of a hat in our neighborhood, but we kept it for that entire storm. Don't remember how the dish worked out. I remember watching The Fellowship of the Ring; I'd watch for an hour or so, then go shovel, then come back in and watch some more...

Cristi, the target opening date for ornaments is set for Dec 11th. So far, four of you have received your gifts and three of us have not. I thought that we should wait until everyone receives theirs. Selena and Lulu, have you received your ornament?

I hate to brag but we RARELY lose power here. We have satellite TV and we lose it during snowstorms but all we have to do is scrape the dish and voila, we have tv again.

Poor Marcie, 40 degress. Shoot, I would love to see that. It is just too cold. I have to run to drop off Graci at PreSchool and not looking forward to it. We need some hot to warm us up!

It has warmed up now..... it is 12 degrees now, but on the plus side the sun is shining so maybe it will melt some of the streets.

I was wanting to get out to do a little shopping today, but I don't know if I want to be that cold. Also, I need to clean my house and finish decorating for the party Saturday. I do have to go to the grocery today to get the ingredients for the recipe.

It is in the 70's here today. Very Atypical too. Not sure what is going on but we have only had one small spell of cool weather. I am sure it will hit us soon though.

I will never ever forget how cold it was the 3 winters I lived in New York. I don't know how I survived. I get cold in 60s. It's 77 now and we are still supposed to be 40 by 4. Maybe that's why I get cold so easily. We get major jumps at once. Usually it hits freezing only 4 or 5 times a year here.

I loved this island. Well this beach. Royal Caribbean keeps up this private beach and only they can use it. Labeedee is in Hahti. I was leary of Hahti but this is a nice place. The area is well kept and the people are amazing!!

We never once had someone try to make us buy one thing. I loved that! Also the area is so beautiful. You have several places to chose from. We decided to go with the group and stay at a smaller area of the beach but it was the one with the nice view of the ship!

We were later leaving. We slept in and had breakfast as a family for once in the diningroom. We all had a nice breakfast then headed back to grab our stuff. Bonnie sent over with us. We finally found everyone. Yes we had conflicting info on where to meet on the beach.

Like I said this was an amazing beach. So pretty. The water was wondeful too. Several already had rented a float so we only rented one and everyone just shared.

One of the impressive things for me was as soon as we arrived a native of Hahti came up to us and instantly asked how many lounges did we need. He got them and set us up with our friends. It was wonderful. He even seemed like he did not want to take the tip Jeff gave him.

We stayed there for several hours just playing in the water, talking, eating and napping. RCI use to have a salmon burger but they no longer offered this on the bbq. I was disappointed in that but nothing else on the island!!

We finally went back and enjoyed the pool and flowrider for a while. lol It is amazing how quickly the day flies by when you are having fun.

Before we knew it the time was here for us to meet in the bar for cocktails. We had a nice time at the show before dinner and then dinner was good.

I have to say though while we had good food in the diningroom we had a very sorry beverage waiter. She never wanted to get us anything besides water to drink. We had to request drinks for the kids and half of the time they never got them. I was very disappointed in this but this was my only real disappointment on the cruise.

Really? I have low blood pressure too!! That must be why I stay cold. It's dropped 20 degrees already and Dane had the bright idea to eat ice cream at lunch.

Wow what a wonderful day we had on Saturday. The weather was just great. I am telling everyone we had the best weather the whole cruise!

We got up to the pool deck at 8. Our friends already had a few seats saved and it was a first come first serve on who got those chairs.

We did not eat breakfast in the diningroom. I did go and get me a little food in Windjammers. Jeff went once and brought me a bite then I went back for fruit. I did have one drink at the pool and that was a screwdriver. That thing was strong as heck!

We laided around chatting with everyone. I did read a tad. For lunch we went to Johnny Rockets with Joe and Sha. This was a nice place. I liked the food. I have already told you about them so I will not go back into eating there. we did have to wait a while since we went during the rush time. But that was not bad. I did get ticked at Joe. The line was very long and we were next. Would you believe this family came up and tried to cut in front of everyone? He told the waiters, oh no that is not going to happen. He told them we were next and those people had not even been in line at all. I do not know what happened but I do know we were served next. lol

After that we did go back to the pool for a short time but Jeff does not like the pool that much so he wanted to leave. We went to shop, look and buy pictues, watch the kids on the flowrider and nap. lol But once again the day just flew right by us. Before we knew it the time was for cocktails. We were meeting everyone for a goodbye and surprise party for Erik. Yes my baby had his birthday the next day. I was so impressed that Joe had a towel in the shape of a surf board, it was blue and white with flowers. It was manly though. Everyone of us signed the towel in a flower. This so touched me. This was presented to E at the party. It brought tears to many eyes. I am tearing now just remembering it.

You see I had a party planned with my ex friend for her nephew and my son but since she got mad at me she refused to include my son. So I could not get him a cake or anything for his dinner this night. I was so heartbroke over it all. I mean I had planned and helped buy stuff for this party but yet my son was not allowed to be a part of that party.

Let me state I have never once taken ill feelings out on a child. NEVER!!! I think this is the lowest thing a human can do to anyone. If this B%$@* wanted to hurt me she did by this! I have never been so upset for my child. He was so hurt when the cake came by us and he could not be included. He had been told my her and us that this party was for him and Anthony. It hurt for me to see him watch this party next to our table. He could not even get up and sing to Anthony. I do have hard feelings towards her for the way she treated both my children. You can be mean to me but do not be mean to my family or friends. It is so hard for a child to understand mean people. I had already told Erik he would no be apart of this party. And it hurt him but I felt it was nicer to let him know then be surprised in the end.

So for my true friends to come out and plan this for my son was so special to me. Goodness I am tearing again. lol They all planned this on their own too.

Also Kim, Tammy, Thom and Mari had a piece of chocolate cake delivered to E for his birthday. We did not have the candles but they all sang Happy Birthday to my little buddy. It was very special. Erik and Kim just hit it off. Kim is 50 but he is a big child, but what man is not? lol E likes to pick and he loved to pick on Kim. On our first formal night E told Kim he looked like his waiter. So they just picked on and on about this for the next few days. Erik would see him each night and ask him to bring him something. If you did get to see any pictures and you see Kim, he is strawberry blonde gentleman, with my Erik try to look for the napkin over Kim's arm. It was just so funny when he came with that waiter and had that napkin on his arm!

We did not go to the show and we did not make it up to the bar after dinner. I was so tired and just needed to go to bed. lol I regret not making it to the bar after to see everone once more but the next say worked out to where I saw most of them again.

Heck, I am always cold too. I don't think my fingers or toes are ever warm. I hate to shake hands with people because they always remark about it. My blood pressure is perfect.

Selena - that is horrible what your ex-friend did to Erik. How could anyone treat a child like that and take their feelings out on a boy. What a B@*^%. At least your real friends came together for him, that is great!!!!

When I went to work this morning it was 0 degrees out. The Blizzard of 2003 was a fun one. I was stupid enough to drive in my little car from by boyfriend's house to my mom's house. So many cars were stuck on the side of the rode, but I kept on truckin. My dad was snowed in at my grandpa's house and I was bound and determined to make it to my mom and help her. I made it, but what normally took 30 minutes, took over an hour. My dad also made it but got the van stuck on the corner of our street so the next day we had to dig him out!!!!

I tell you Selena.....that EX friend certainly has problems!! MAJOR PROBLEMS!! How could an "adult" do that to a child and feel good about herself???? Man, I wish I was on that cruise!! I would have done my darndest to get a party going!

I just made the easiest and yummiest peanut butter fudge. OMG, at first I thought it might be icky but why not try it. Something easy for Graci to make. Well, I tell you. I am glad I did it. Take a container of vanilla frosting and a regular size jar of peanut butter and melt them together in the microwave. I did it for 30 sec the first time and then mixed it. Next time I did it for 20 seconds and it was done. Spread it in a 9X9 glass pan sprayed with Pam and refrig until hardened. VOILA, instant yummy treat.

Selena, I am so glad your friends made Erik's birthday special. That is a low person to be mean to kids like that. But, it doesn't sound like she ruined your cruise.

The cold front made it. It's 40 degrees. I'm so happy it's Thursday because I get to watch Grey's Anatomy while I drink my hot chocolate.

I just sampled the fudge for you Marcie. It has a very mild peanut butter taste and is extremely creamy. Mmmmm, hot chocolate sounds good. Can you tell I am dieting??
