Cranberry or Pineapple?? Part 2

I am going to have to try to make the fudge. That sounds good.

I mentioned how I took things to give to the kids in our group on the cruise, right? Well she hated so many people that she threatened to break my fingers if I give Larrie's grandkids their stuff. I told her I have had my kids hurt by adults before and I refused to do this to a child. While my feelings had been hurt a little by a few people I would NEVER take something out on a child. Years ago before Erik was in school I keep a friends kids one summer. We were good friends and we did a few things together. We loved their kids. Jeff made several comments about the girl being a tomboy and they stopped their friendship with us all together. Jeff did not say anything bad just that she was a tomboy. When this happened my kids came home from church and let me know those two children told them they were not allowed to play with them anymore because their mom no longer liked Jeff. It went on to E's birthday party. Erik invited them to come and he was told they were not allowed to come. I am sorry I have seen first hand how this hurts a child. I would never do this to a child. It is one of the lowest things a human can do in my opinion.

OK I have vented. lol

Has everyone gotten their Christmas tree up? House decorated? Presents bought?

Selena, I agree with your whole last paragraph! Don't hurt the innocent child!

No time to decorate yet. We have so much going on right now. Can you believe that we are putting in new windows this time of year? They will be delivered tomorrow. Now we have to pray for a nice day! Thank goodness that Ted decided to PAY someone to put them in. I know they are easy but we have so many projects that this is one that will be done in a day by SOMEONE ELSE! I just wish he would pay someone to paint the other house. I hate to paint. Hate it.

Okay this is going to sound weird, but I LOVE to paint, both furniture and houses. :rotfl: :artist: I would help you if I was there. I've been seriously considering painting my house lately, starting with the doors.

It is 32 degrees, and they are saying this cold front is going to stick around a week or more. Time to bring out the winter clothes.

Marcie - I like to paint but I suck at it!!!! When we painted my house I did my master bedroom and bathroom, well my dad and BIL had to redo what I did!!!!! I don't think they want me to paint either!!!

Selena - OMG, your EX friend is so mature...please break your fingers...what a moron.

I have my tree up and decorated, I need to get my outside lights up but am waiting for the snow to melt. I have pretty much all my Christmas shopping done, now just need to wrap everything.

We had a similar situation though we still don't know the exact reason. Last year, Alex befriended a new kid who had been homeschooled up until that year. His mother was going through treatment for cancer so she couldn't homeschool him any more. Tammy invited him over and they had a great time together. She met the kid's mom and dad and learned all about the cancer treatments. Then, suddenly, they wouldn't return calls or answer notes sent home with the kid about getting together again. They both were invited to a sleep-over and he was getting dropped of by his mom at the same time we were dropping off Alex. The mom acted like she didn't even know us! After that, back at school, the kid told Alex he wasn't allowed to play with him any more. ***?

Usually we have a tree up by now, but the place where we've bought one the last few years didn't have their trees yet this past weekend, so maybe this weekend. Lights are all up outside and inside but I just bought my first presents yesterday.

Poor Alex. I can't believe you guys reached out to this family and they did that to you. Alex is such a good guy. He doesn't deserve to be treated like that!

What did you buy me? :teeth:

Poor Alex (and the other little boy too), that is horrible. You were nice and went out of your way to include this little boy and to have an interest in their family and then they treat you like that. What is up with people? :confused3

It is quiet here the last couple of days. It is snowing here again. They said snow showeres but it is really coming down right now. I feel bad for Cristi. Today is the day for her pampered chef party. I hope the snow doesn't affect it!!

Doesn't this just break your heart when someone is so immature to limit a friendship like that. We did not know what had happened until I asked their dad. He told me and then I called those kids mom. She told me the same thing. I just could not believe someone would get mad at us for making a comment about their child being a tomboy. Well heck my girl was a sissy. lol I mean very girlie girlie at that time. I did not get mad at those children's dad when he made fun of Mac in front of her for wanting to do cheerleading verses softball. I mean get real adults! Jeff tells me I am way to naive and I believe the best out of people. I am like this but I was raised that God wants us to be this way. I know no other way.

Jrsy I am sorry you son was hurt this way. I am sure it was over something just as stupid. Something like what you have or something like what they kids were allow to eat. People are just not very open minded and not forgiving at all.

We have had abnormally warm weather here but now the cold is moving in again. We are suppose to get into the 20's. I just hope we do not get the wind. A few years ago we dropped into the single digits and we had very bad wind. It made the windchill factor into the minuses. That stuck for us. Where we live we tend to get more freezing rain or sleet than snow. Meaning we lose power alot but that year we kept our power and lost water. lol Our pipes froze. It was not good either! No water stinks.

Freezing rain has to be the worst. We have friends in Kilgore TX that get it once in a while. I would hate it.

Had a good time with Cristi. Quite honestly, I am sorry that our "pampered chef" parties together have ended as I have enjoyed being around her. Her house was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Before the party started we were able to see her photo albums of their trip to WDW and also the cruise. Truly enjoyed them.

Awww Sandy, I'm glad you had a good time at the party. Cristi, how was it?

Aerial took the SAT this morning. She was invited to take it by Duke university for scoring so high on her school acheivement test. She is totally exhausted now, she was there from 7:30 a.m. until 1. I just told her to do her best and just see what it's like. At the least she will know what it's all about before she takes it in high school.

After we dropped her off, Dane and I went to Chick-fil-A and ate breakfast. Have I ever mentioned how much I like cows? They had these little stuffed cows with santa shirts and hats with a sign that says "We wish U wood eat mor chikin". Dane bought one for me. :goodvibes I was so excited. Haha. After that we went shopping a bit. I am almost completely done with my shopping. One more item left for Aerial and the rest of her stocking stuff, then a few things for Dane. Aerial asked for a lot of drawing stuff this year.

We were going to go to the races in Houston tomorrow but none of us feel up to it so we are going to stay home and get some stuff done around here. We only have one more Christmas thing to put up in our yard. We have a cross that we put lights on. This year we repainted it last weekend so now we just have to put the lights back on it and put it in the yard. Our inside decorations are done too.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. :goodvibes

Aww, Sandy that was nice. We don't have to have a party to get together. Anytime you want just give me a call. I had fun too. We should hopefully close the show Mon or Tues. I am just waiting on my SIL. She took the catalog home so that they could decide on Christmas gifts. I hope she doesn't buy the insulated carrier for herself. I was planning on getting that for her for Christmas.

My shoulder is KILLING me. I didn't sleep much at all last night. I can't figure out what I did. It hurts under the shoulder blade. :sad2:

What grade is she in? I remember doing this in 7th grade. I'll bet my mom still has my scores somewhere.

Sandy, thanks for the Christmas card/photo but one question: why aren't Ted's toenails painted up all purty like yours? Have you heard any more stories about light rail problems? We were trying to make it home from our office Christmas party downtown last night and the trains were all screwed up. Of course there was nothing in the newspaper about it this morning! And it was below twenty degrees as we waited and waited and waited...

She's in 7th. I'm sure I'll have her scores forever too. :rotfl: It was really good for her, she got to see what high school kids look like. She thought they were college kids. She has worn uniforms since Kindegarten since she goes to private school, but the plan is to send her to public high school so she got to see what all the girls were wearing. :goodvibes Anyway, I think we can see her scores online by Dec. 21st.

Okay, back to cleaning......

Wow Marcie. That is so cool about Aerial. I bet it was so draining on her! I think that it is great for her to experience the test early. Those pretest jitters are so hard and maybe hers won't be as bad in high school after already experiencing it. We just ate at Chick Fil A on Saturday and I saw the cows you were talking about. They are so cute with their Santa hats!

Sorry to hear about your shoulder Cristi!! If you need "heat" treatments, call me and I can give you a cool thingy that you heat in the microwave. I make them and my family absolutely swears by them.

Jrsy, you are welcome for the Christmas card. It certainly didn't take long as we mailed them after 4pm on Friday. :It looks like the post office is working hard. For some reason, Ted's manicure never lasts as long as mine does. I will let him know that it was noticeable. Maybe next :lmao: time he will take better care of them! We haven't watched any tv today so I haven't heard anything about the light rail.

I tell you.....I hate painting. It just seems like we will never get this other house painted and on the market. It just soaks up the paint. So....now we bought primer and it is such a pain because they recommended an oil base to cover the tar and smell from cigarettes. Then, we are getting new windows in our house and now have decided to put new windows in that house. On top of that I still have the 5th wheel stuff in the house. I can't :confused3 find a path to the front door tomorrow to let the guy in to do the windows. Then try and find a spot to put up the tree. I honestly think that we will have to just put up a mini tree this year. Am I a whiner??? YEP and proud of it! :lmao: I am doing a fine job of it that is for sure! :rotfl:

Marcie - That is so good for Aerial. What a great experience. I love Chick-fil-a's breakfast. So yummy. I haven't eaten there for breakfast in awhile.

Jrsy - I haven't heard anything about the light rail either. How was your party?

Cristi - Had a lot of fun at your house on Saturday. Your house is beautiful. The "heating pads" that my mom make are wonderful and you can bring them anywhere because you are not stuck with a cord. I probably heat mine hotter than what it should be but it holds the heat in good!!!

After Cristi's party, Chris and I finished Christmas shopping for the girls. They are now 100% complete.

Do they involve rice?

Even without considering that we had about a month to put it together, it went very well. We had it at the Oxford Hotel, which was convenient for taking the light rail, except for the schedule being all screwed up when we headed home. The food was really good and the room was right on 17th Street so we could see the snow and holiday lights through the big windows.

This morning, I was stuck on the light rail with a screaming 5 year old. He got on at Englewood and when there wasn't a seat available by a window, he screamed and cried for the whole 20 minute trip. I was ready to throw him AND his mom under the train.

No they have corn in it, but same concept.

Wow interesting ride to work. Did the mom do anything to quiet down the kid? I wish we could have nice Christmas parties like the one you had, but I guess that is one of the down sides to working for the government. We get to go to Simms Landing for lunch and pay $20....their gift to us is free 30 minutes time off to use at lunch!!!
