Have a great month. THat sounds so funny but with our trip and Houston, she really means it.

Yes, she told me. I am such a baby about rides that I know I am the one holding off the final decision. Sorry!!

Not sure if you see this before you leave Sandy but there is nothing wrong about not riding rides. I love them but MacKenzie is not big on them. I try to not push, I beg her to ride them with her mom but I try not to push her. Now Erik is my kid who loves rides.

Lulu I am going this weekend on a trip to Disney. The on again off again Hurricane ruined our plans for Charleston so we decided to surprise the kids. We told them when I got home they are going with us. But E said to Charleston? I said what you don't want to go with us? lol So I am glad they still think we are going there. It will be interesting to see if and when they realize we are NOT going to Charleston!!! We are also going to stay at the Swan.

Lulu, Welcome Back!

Heidi, Sandy and Selena have a great trip!!!!!! Take lots of pictures!!!!

Everyone else, how's it going? :goodvibes Does anyone have any big plans for this weekend? We are going down to Albuquerque to see my brother and his family.

Hmmm...just me, Lulu, Cristi & Marcie for the next month; I could think of worse positions to be in.

As for weekend plans, we've got a pallet of sod arriving today, so after tomorrow I should have a whole new back lawn to mow.

Have you guys tried the Yankee Test ? I am just 24% Dixie (a Yankee Doodle Dandy).

Just a quick goodbye. Keep the fort down Cristi, Jrsy and Lulu. Have a great couple of weeks.

I took the Dixie test. I scored 74% Dixie. Your neck must be a little pink! Sounds about right since I'm from Texas.

I didn't get to get on early enough today to tell Heidi & Sandy bye. I hope they have a blast, maybe sometime next week Selena will give us a trip report.

Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend. I don't have much planned. Just going to get some rest, next week is going to be really busy at work.

Have a great time (month, lol), guys!

Selena, you should love the Swan!! She probably won't read this until she's back, but I hope she tries the "Bomb Pop" drink at the pool bar! It was the best!!!

I took the test - I'm 33% Dixie.

I needed something to cheer me up. I had a cart full of hugely discounted items - mostly christmas presents at disney shopping and they did site maintainance just as I was about to order. I'm worried the stuff will be gone when I can finally get on. Oh well.

I'm still in that shock - where I wake up in the morning and look around for my window and dresser and go "Darn, I'm not in Disney anymore!"

And my view was pretty cool. At first I just saw parking lot and I was dissapointed, but when I got up to the window, I realized I could see a lot -mostly the Tower of Terror and the Boardwalk!

To the right I could see the Studios, including the Tower of Terror, Muppets balloon, and some soundstage, then in front of me I could see the Swan fountain, bus stop and parking lot and to the left was the back of the Boardwalk, including the pool slide and carousel, in the far distance I could see Downtown Disney, Cirque de Soleil and Saratoga Springs a little. If I stuck my head out and all the way to the left I could see the Epcot ball and some of the fireworks, but it was too far left to show up on film. I'll be posting pics soon.

Hi all I am back. Had a wonderful time. BUT missed Heidi and Sandy. I forgot their phone numbers and did not know where they were staying at.

The Swan was nice. I am not sure if I like it better than the Dolphin or not. They both had pluses and minuses. I did like our room with the nice large queen size beds but the Dolphin had a sitting area but only double beds. I loved the view. We were able to see the fireworks from Epcot.

I will tell more when I am at home. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

I found out this morning that Steve Irwin was killed in that freak accident with the stingray yesterday. We are huge fans at my house. My son is devastated.

Well will type more later.

Welcome back Selena. Did you ride Expedition Everest? That's a drag that you didn't get to meet Sandy & Heidi.

I took the test. I am 61% Dixie. Just under the Mason-Dixon Line. I was born in Montgomery AL.

I took that test a while back when it was going around another board. I foget what I was but I think it asked me something about the president or the money. lol I was quite a bit Dixie. lol

Trip Report

We told the kids when I got home that they were going on vacation with us. Erik said we are going to Charleston? I said what do you not want to go with us. Had to be careful not to lie. Jeff and I ran our poodles to the lady that was going to keep them then came back for Jeff to take E to football practice. Thursday we left at 8:45 pm and stopped for gas about 2 miles down the road. Then stopped again in 30 minutes for Jeff to get some Starbucks coffee. Exactly at midnight my family wished me a Happy Birthday. It was so sweet!! We stopped at 1:00 am Friday morning somewhere close to Georgia to stay the night.

Friday morning I awoke at 6 am and started getting ready. The kids still had no clue as to where they were going. We had breakfast and hit the road by 8 am. When we crossed over shortly after leaving into Georgia Erik asked just where is Charleston. Without missing a beat I said Florida. He is way to smart to try to say SC when we had just left the state. MacKenzie and E laughed and said they thought it was in SC. lol As we got closer to DisneyWorld Jeff kept on mentioning various things at Disney. We were in within 20 minutes of Disney when Erik asked how much longer and what is the name of our hotel. I said about an hour (because I figured by the time we were in the room it would be an hour) and the name of the hotel is the Swan. Still nothing was said by the kids!! We got off the exit to Disney and the kids still had no clue. Finally something was said and I said oh we thought we would take you to Disney!!! Erik was totally dumbfounded while MacKenzie laughed and said she knew there was no Charleston, Florida and the finalclue to her was the name of the hotel. Mac is like that she is afraid to be wrong or is afraid to spoil the surprise and will keep her mouth shut.

We checked in and were in our room by 3. Off to the pool for 45 minutes after that. Erik loved the waterslide there. Over all the kids were thrilled to be there and they loved the hotel and the BEDS!! The night before in that other hotel the beds were terrible. They just kept on complaining about the beds and Jeff and I laughed to each other that the beds the next day were to die for!

After swimming we came back to the room to get ready for Ohanas at 5:15. They meal was good as usual but I did miss the pineapple and carmel sauce. But the new dessert was equally as good. After that we came back and crashed. I mean crashed too! I literally was asleep within seconds of hitting the bed.

I will type more later. The best is yet to come!

Hi all! Didn't want you to think I had bailed out on you. We have a big meeting today regarding the project that I worked so much overtime on, so we've been working hard to prepare for it.

Selena, great trip report so far! Sure beats laying 430 square feet of sod, which Tammy and I did on Saturday morning.

I have to say with our trip Friday was a wonderful day. Yes the drive was long and tiring but it was so worth it for Erik's reaction. MacKenize never reacted like E did. She took the attitude she knew what was going on. lol figures now that she is a teenager she knows it all. lol nah she never acted like that about the trip.

Saturday we woke up at 7 and were on our way to AK by 8. My family no longer cares to lotter around. They want to go straight to the good stuff. lol which at AK was EE. I loved this ride. I had not read one thing about it so I was very surprised. The first time we rode it I was with MacKenzie. The next time I rode with Jeff. Between the first and second riding we grabbed a fast pass. Glad we did because it was for 11:40. We went to ride Kali Rapids, we rode a ride where all the fair games are. I can never remember the name of this ride but we enjoyed it last year. After that ride we went to ride Dinosaurs. I hate Dinosaurs. I hate the dark so any ride in the dark that is a slow moving ride I hate. Went back to waste time and let the kids ride that one ride again. Then we played games and went back and were able to get on EE about 10 minutes early. The CM was so nice about it.

After lunch we had planned on going for a swim and then on to Epcot but we decided to go on to Epcot and have sushi there. I love sushi!!! We ate it in Japan. On to Mission in Space. We rode it once. The kids rode Test Track under the single rider line. Mind you we were there just shortly after noon and all the FP's were gone for TT. The wait line was over an hour and there was just no way for that ride I was going to wait. The kids got in the single rider line and I sat at the exit, while Jeff ran to Soarin to get a FP. After he got back the kids came out within minutes. We walked around for a bit in the World part and then on to Soarin. After riding Soaring we went back to the hotel. We strolled up the Broadwalk for a bit then came back and had sushi at Kiminos at the Swan. I swear this is the best sushi I have ever had in my life!! It was so good. I also tried sake for the first time. It was ok.
The do not or will not try sushi so we let them order room service. They loved that. After dinner it was so late. We went straight to bed. Again I was died tired and fell asleep quickly.

I tried Saki a while back for the first time. That stuff is strong!!! I like crunch rolls we get them at the hibachi grill here. I'm loving your trip report. Wasn't Expedition Everest awesome!!!

I finally got to go to the foot doctor today. He was a really nice man. I found out that I have been walking on a stress fracture!!!! He put my foot in a foot cast, I can take if off just to shower and sleep, and he gave me antiinflamitory's to take for 3 weeks. I have to wear this cast for 3 weeks then tennis shoes for 2 weeks. I never imagined i fractured my foot. I am glad now I know what's wrong and that it will heal up. Work has been so busy, corporation extenstion returns are due september 15th. I've been going crazy and I may have to work Sunday. BUT I got to go to Aerial's volleyball games today and they won barely, they really had to work for this win. Tomorrow night after I get off of work we are going to Austin, DH is going get some car parts and Aerial and I are riding with him, Saturday we are going to the capital to check it out and then come back Saturday night.

How's everyone else doing? I think Sandy & Heidi got on the ship today?

Hi Marcie. How are you doing today? I am glad you went tot he dr too. Like you said at least you know what is wrong now and it will heal. Take it easy girlie!

Are you going to get to see Heidi when she comes to Texas? I can not remember. I think it is age or maybe the blonde hair. lol

I loved EE!! I would go on it again. But my favorite is still RRC in MGM. I just love it!!

Jeff said the other night he is ready to go back but he wants to go back for a week. lol

Did I tell everyone while I was there that several residents kept on saying that Labor Day weekend is the best time to come. They said that the parks are very slow that weekend. They said the reasoning was that most of the souths schools were already in session and the north was doing the shopping to go back.

I hated sake the first time I tried it; thought it tasted like hot vinegar! Within the last couple of years, though, I had the opportunity to try it again and really enjoyed it. I think it really depends on what kind you get.

Is it one of those boot-looking things you velcro on?

We are so excited to ride EE when we go in February, but we also want to ride RRC again since we only got on it once last time.

Jrsy you will love EE. I truly loved it.

I agree with you on the sake. I think it would depend on the kind you have. At Kiminos at the Swan I asked about it and our server brought me a sample. I liked it and it was only $7 for the bottle. It was good. To me it was like warm water with a bit. Nothing to write home about but it was good never the less.
