I am not sure how to reply b.c the item is new in box and I posted the picture from the box...it also sounds like it might be a scam - any thoughts?

treat it as a scam and ignore it.

Lack of proper English and proper CL protocol: (cash/carry) would make me very uncomfortable.

Definitely a scam.. . .

Below are the top three Craigslist scams.

* The buyer or seller doesn't live near you.
* The buyer or seller wants to pay by cashier's check, US Postal Service money order, Western Union, or escrow service (BidPay, Squaretrade, etc.).
* The buyer or seller won't agree to meet with you in person.

If you happen to see something on Craigslist that looks scammy, you should send an email to "abuse@craigslist.org" and give them as much detail as you can about the listing. Make sure you include URL (or 8 digit post ID number) in your email. If you're selling something and you think a con artist has expressed interest, forward it to "abuse@craigslist.org"

Thank you for the quick answers!! That is what my gut was telling me!

IMO - ignore creepy e-mail like you never received it.

People are doing wierd things these days, it's not worth the risk.

Also, I also got a response similar to this when we were selling DS's dirt bike-need address for shipping company, will wire $$ blah, blah, blah. I still have chills running up and down my back just thinking about it and that was 4 yrs ago!!

We ignored the second e-mail, kept it on Craigslist and sold it locally to a family who met us in a public place of our choice and paid us cash for the bike.

yup its a scam. It happened to my husband. The buyer wanted us to cash a check and pay a "shipper" to pick it up. NO WAY. The check came and it was drawn on some insurance agency in michigan. We called the bank it was drawn on and they were SO happy to have the check. Its too bad people have to be crooks.

I ignored the email AND sold my item!!

I had two loft bed/desk combinations - one used and one new and sold them both! Then when one lady came by - she offered to buy the tv sitting in my garage that I hadn't listed yet!!

I love Craigslist - I posted it at 11:30 this morning and by 8:00 tonight the items wer epicked up and I had cash in hand! Straight into the Disney fund!
