Since this past Thursday evening I have made a little over $350.00 from Craigslist & Ebay just by selling stuff around from the house that we no longer use/need:thumbsup2:woohoo:

Good for you!! I talk and talk about doing this and NEVER do it! How did you figure out what to charge?

that's fantastic :worship:

what kind of goods did you list?

That's great! I have a few things listed on craigslist, but no nibbles yet.

Whats your trick, and what are you selling? I have tried ebay several times and rarely anything ever sells

I need tips too. I put a few things on Craigslist (researched prices on CL before putting it up) and nothing sold!

I do okay on Ebay, but hate the shipping.

Thanks for the motivation! I have just listed 2 items on ebay - am about to list a 3rd. I have been saying I was going to do it forever, and your post inspired me to do so! It also goes with my "destashing" thread- stuff out!

I will try to ebay my way to disney (at least let it help!)- hey, you gotta start somewhere!

For those asking what- I posted a brand new Mary Kay Satin Hands set I had, a Janet Evanovich Hard Eight audio book (also new), and my sons' Bakugon toys they no longer play with. We'll see how it goes . . .

Thanks for the motivation- I hope this might inspire someone else!

I've listed several audio books and they have never old. not sure what I do wrong, but ebay hates me when I'm the seller. LOL!

OP here :)

On Craiglist the stuff I sold was baby/stuff. That stuff sold so quickly, I was shocked!! I had never used CL before. I have been an in home child care provider for 3 1/2 years so the stuff had def had it's fair share of usage but I still felt I made a decent amount off of it.

I sold a pack n play that I bought at Walmart for $4X.XX when I started doing child care. I used it pretty much everyday for one of the kids to sleep in but it was still in really good shape. I sold that within a couple hours of listing on New Years Eve for $35!!

I had 2 boosters seats (car seats) that our kids used for several years then I used for my child care children that I sold for $10 each.

I sold a crib mattress that was my sons when he was a baby (he's 8 now) & I used for my child care business as well. It was in OK shape but some of the plastic on the side was torn. I included a mattress cover & 2 crib sheets and sold that for $10 total.

The last thing I sold on CL was a Step 2 play kitchen for $25. The best thing about that was I bought it used 3 1/2 years ago at the Goodwill for $5.00!!

On Ebay we sold some computer stuff my husband had laying around (RAM, a wireless router), a old polaroid camera, a used TI-86 calculator, my husbands class ring, & some books.

The class ring it's self sold for $80 within an hour of me listing it & had 3 people watching it. I used a buy it now so I am thinking I should have did an auction or listed it for much higher but we were thinking getting $30 would have been nice when we listed it, lol.

I am so excited because I start a new job tomorrow & won't get a pay check for three weeks. Things were going to be superrrr tight and DH and I were really stressing over it so this was such a huge relief!:yay:

I am thinking of listing some lots of clothing. I have gymboree clothes that I need to get out of the house. I would love to be making some extra money. So hopefully this month I can get on the ball and get some stuff sold. Ebay and craigslist!

I sold some old video games on ebay a few years ago when my husband lost his job and made over $1000 in 1 month. It was insane.

Have you ever tried PaperbackSwap dot com? It's free to join.

--Start off listing 10 books, (paperbacks, audio books or hard covers) and get 2 credits.
--When someone requests a book from you, you send it out and you pay for shipping.
--For each book you send to someone, you'll get a credit. Audio books are worth 2 credits
--Each book you request, costs 1 credit...audio books cost 2 credits. Any books you request gets shipped to you for free.

You can't buy the books. The only time you pay is when someone orders a book from you. And you can print the labels right from the site and put them in your mail box for pickup.

You can also refer your friends and will get 2 credits in your account when they list 10 books.

It's a fun way to recycle your books and get new books to read. I listed books my kids outgrew and didn't take with them when they moved, golden books, cook books and travel books and novels. You just never know what books people will be looking for.

They also have a feature where you can see how many copies of the book you have are listed. You get in the queue and if there are already 4 of that book listed, yours will be #5.

Take a look at the site. You don't make any money but it's a great way to recycle your books. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Books don't really sell on ebay, unless maybe, you are selling a whole series. Half.com would be a better place to sell them, but I personally use paperback swap (like someone else suggested).

Congrats OP! It is so exciting when you sell something that has just been taking up space. I have found that baby and kids stuff are the easiest items to sell on both ebay and craigslist.

OP - I am curious about the old polaroid camera...how old, what type, how much did it sell for (I have one lying around - wanted to get an idea of what it might go for)

Wow on the class ring! Was it gold? (I have one of those too!)
