Crabby today...UGH...just venting

personal issues up the ying yang...and then something else goes wrong related to scrapping.

A very dear, dear, dear friend had offered to let me borrow her Stampin Up owl punch so I could make some "baby dresses" out of the vest part of the punch. I talked to her yesterday, and for whatever reason - she has offered to just punch me out some and mail them to me- with whatever paper she can find.

I have a baby shower to go to next Friday night - and I really want the shower card to be PERFECT. I want to be the one picking out the paper. I want this thing to be adorable. I even found super cute hangers (thank you Tim Holtz) at a crop I was at last night.

Had I known that this would be a problem- I would have just ordered one a few weeks ago, but now feel under the gun to order one at a prohibitive price on ebay - in HOPES that it will arrive by Wed or Thursday (no time on Friday to make the card).

And...I have just had a "positive" experience with the USPS just last week - when somehow DD's tuition check to her college went MIA and was LATE. Five days to go 240 miles - with priority mail.

Thanks for listening...I don't need any advice...just needed to vent.

And this friend - I KNOW she thinks she is trying to be really helpful, I really do. She is really considerate - and thinks she is saving me time by her doing this for me. I can't even call "her" stampin up consultant - to see if there is a way to buy one of these punches and get it quickly - I would hate for this friend to feel bad if she knew I bought the punch. (And, yes, this would get back to her!)

do you have a cutting machine?? cricut or other??
just thinking there might be a file you could buy on-line that would be quicker

I do have a cricut - but do not have any "extras" other than about 6 cartridges.

I do not have design studio - and while I know they have the craftroom - I'm really hesitant to order "another on-line thing". The last one wouldn't weld together at all - leaving me with a project that just isn't complete.

I did suck up the $26 for a buy-it-now, and hopefully the punch will get to me by Thursday. Friday is of no use - as I will have "no" time to work on a card, due to the times of work, travel etc. We are hoping we will be 15 minutes late at a best case scenario.

I saw in another post about the MIA tuition payment... Did the school work with you?? I sure hope so.. I know you were worried....

We don't get DD's tuition bill til 8/10 and payment is due 8/20... that's a lot of money to turn around in 10 days.... guess they think all of us have trees that drop money regularly!

I guess none of your carts aren't a paper doll ones?? I'm thinking that looks like one of the everyday paper doll outfits
if you decide to get another cart - I will say to get one of those for the extras - with so little carts those extras are really worth it (my mosted used carts before SCAL)

Thanks for asking...the payment arrived on Thursday, and was properly recorderd into their on-line payment system. So -that is all good! Since she is just an entering freshman, we really don't know the ins and outs of things like - what to do if the tuition is going to be late.

I really know my friend was trying to watch out for me (she is retired vs me working). We live about 45 minutes apart, and she didn't want me to spend the time(and gas) driving over.

I just signed up for the card swap - and will need to punch for the baby card...so it isn't like it won't get used!

Thanks for your help and ideas Reddy- I do not have the EveryDay paper dolls. I'm mostly a font-girl with cricut. It will work out how it works out. I'll probably start to work out an alternate card idea early in the week - with the focus being the ultrasound stamp. The "new mom" isn't due until November, so I could easily do the outfits for the actual baby card, if needed! There is just so much other stuff going on to "worry" about something like this (my one-and only child is headed off to school in a couple of weeks). The venting before - must have helped me - I am much more relaxed about this!

I'm so glad everything worked out for you with tuition...
Our DD will be a freshman too, so we are in the learning process too.... Here tuition is actually due after she moves in... I think we are just going to go over and pay for it on move in day so that it puts peace of mind in for all of us...

I have a stepson at another college and their tuition is done differently, but luckily we owe next to nothing for his tuition (since tuition is split between parents and he is responsible for his housing/living expenses per their agreement)...

I"m always one of people that try to think of another way of doing stuff

just remember that most of the stuff we stress about today - we won't remember in 10 years
