Once the monorail shuts down for the Polynesian, what will be the best way to get there from CR? We have one day to do some resort hopping, and would like to go there.

We also would like to go to the Grand Floridian if that makes a difference.

Easiest option would be to take the Resort Monorail from CR to the TTC and then take the walking path to the Poly. Unless you have any mobility concerns, it’s an easy walk - 5-10 mins - plus it’s a nice way to see the resort grounds.

You could also walk from the GF too, just a bit of a longer walk, but still easily doable. And also a beautiful walk, probably more so than the walk from the TTC.

If this were me, we’d Resort Monorail from CR, walk to Poly, walk to GF, then Resort Monorail from GF to CR.

Mind if I ask what time you plan on doing this?

Hope that helps.

We’ll probably head out mid-morning on the day we do this (around 9 or 9:30). We’re thinking we’ll do breakfast at Poly (probably just Captain Cooks), but we’re flexible on whether we do Poly or GF first. We want to maybe check out Wilderness Lodge in the afternoon and then wrap up the day at Disney Springs. I think if we take the monorail back to CR we can take a water taxi to WL from there, right?

There is normally a water taxi that runs between CR-WL-FW (the "Blue Flag" launch), but it has not been running since reopening. One would think Disney would start it again at some point, but hard to say when - may be awhile.

But you can take a water taxi from MK to WL (the "Red Flag" launch) which is running, and also a bus from MK to WL. Those would be your options at the moment.

Is there going to be anything to explore at Polynesian, with the monorail and the resort rooms closed?

IMO:

Kona Cafe
Tambu Lounge
Pineapple Lanai (Dole Whip)
Boutiki always has some cool shopping options
Beautiful grounds and views from the beach

When the monorail isn't running, for whatever reason, just take one of the boats. Walk over to the MK, and grab a boat there.
