CR Theme Park View...Opinions Please

We are heading to WDW 4/28-5/4 for our 25th anniversary. We wanted to book GF for the entire length of stay but could only get 5/1-5/4. We are going to split stay and have POFQ booked for first 3 days. Since 4/28 is our actual anniversary, my DH wants to stay deluxe. Poly is not available so we are thinking CR theme park view. Lake view is also available and cheaper. Is theme park view really worth the money?

It depends. Some people prefer the lake view. It’s more serene.

I love the TPV however because I enjoy listening to the noises. You can hear the buses, boat horns, attraction noises from MK will often be heard too.

I enjoy watching EWP and HEA from the balcony,

The view is of my favorite resorts. Poly and Gf.

To save money you can do lake view and use the 4th floor c0ncourse if that interests you.

Dh and I like to boat from Cr to wl . It’s a nice way to kill some time and kind of romantic, especially in the evening,

Last July 4th we stayed in the CR theme park view. We normally stay in a lakeview room. Honestly, we were only in the room one night to see the fireworks. So, I guess it depends how much do you plan to be in the room? Are you more likely to be in the room during the heat of the day versus at night when you can see it MK sparkle? The theme park view also has the parking lot (look at pictures online). I honestly liked the lake view more, it was peaceful. But we are typically not in the room until after park closing.

We stayed in a club level lake view room for one night before our cruise, and I was glad it wasn't a longer stay because of the late night noise from the monorail, which is on the theme park view side if the hotel, so it might even be louder on that side. I can't imagine also listening to park noises. Not painfully loud but too loud for a peaceful night, imo.

Yes, hands down, TPV is the way to go. My husband and I stayed there last year for his birthday and it was truly magical. There's nothing quite like walking out on the balcony and seeing MK right in front of you. I legit teared up. I think it's one of the few resorts where paying more for the view is absolutely worth every penny. I noticed no issues with noise, we were on the 11th floor.

If your GF room has theme park view, then one at CR would be redundant. But if you wanna watch fireworks from your own balcony on your anniversary day, then do it.

I’ve stayed on the theme park side a couple of times, and it is a whole lot of parking lot. I’ve never noticed noise from the monorail before. I wouldn’t stay there if I weren’t planning to be in the room at firework time.

If you really want the deluxe feeling, I’d go club level at any of the deluxe. Personally I’ve wanted to try the cottages at boardwalk. On my last stay I got an upgrade to club level at Wilderness Lodge. They have a pair of “honeymoon” rooms that only sleep two. The decor was ridiculously sterile, but the shower was heavenly.

We got an upgrade to a TPV in 2018. It was amazing! We loved sitting on the balcony or even on our beds and looking out over the Grand Floridian and MK. Or to step out in the morning and starting the day taking it all in. Once or twice we ended the day watching the fireworks from the balcony and I got one of my favorite pictures of my DD's out there, We didn't notice the noise at all.

I've always dreamt of spending a night at CR, so I think you should go for it.

I did not notice the noise on the theme park side, but if I am staying lake view, I always request an upper floor and away from Chef Mickey--that gets loud at times.

IMO TPV at CR is nice only in the evening so that you don't then see the parking lot and can watch the fireworks. During the day, the predominant view is the parking lot. The lake view is beautiful and you can watch the fireworks from the porch outside the lobby, on the walkway to BLT or even from the pool.
