CR? Tell Me Everything Recent...

I also love these info CR threads and I think I have read them all.

I have one question that I can't find an awnser to thought. How do you get to the pool from the Tower? what floor do you get off the elevator or escalator and how many "public" spaces do you go thru? I know from the wings it is all outside.

My reason is I hate to walk thru places under dressed, you know, seeing people in Convention wear while you just have a sarong over your suit. I just want to pack the appropriate level of coverage.

The Pool is outside the 1st floor of the tower, Don't Worry I was there and plenty of people were coming in with there bathing suits on going to the food & fun center. And there was a convention going on last week too.

We stayed at the CR in MAy. They just started renovating the North Wing when we were there. We had room 7104 it was really Close to the main building and the food court.

The food court has a decent amount of stuff we particularly liked the burgers. Most of the time we just walked over to the MK and ate though. The CR has a restaurat called the Concourse Steakhouse. We highly reccomend this place. If you are on the food plan it is the best in Disney. Our family of four had dinner there. We each had Filet Mignon with shrimp, Lobster Bisque and Creme Brulee, The total was $185.00. It only took 1 dinner credit each. Considering we paid a daily rate of $90.00 for the 4 us we saved a ton and ate very well.

The decor is a little old but since we were rarely in our room it didn't matter at all. The location of the CR can't be beat if you love the MK as much as we do. Being able to wlak back to our hotel after "Wishes" was fabulous! You can also watch them from the 4th floor observation deck as well as the CG. The CG is a little over priced but if you are on the food plan it isn't that bad.

Enjoy the CR if you love the mk........... :flower: :cool1:

There is door to the outside where you go down several outside stairs to get to the pool. I think it is on the 4th floor where the monorail and shops are. We didn't use it much since we usually had the stroller with us.

Stitch Inside--If you want to PM me your e-mail address, I will send you some pictures of CR from March.

is it an open stair like a fire escape or a real stair? I just can't picture it.

Although it has been a while since we stayed at the CR, I believe that the exit to the pool from the tower is off of the main floor of the hotel, not the monorail level. Once outside you go down a fairly wide set of stairs to the ground level where you walk to the pool or to the wing buildings. I don't think there is a stairway from the monorail station to the pool

There are Automatic Doors, @ the other end of the hotel near the Food Center where you go to enter the pool. These are the same doors where you would enter the Towers if you were coming from either of the Wings.

There is no entrance to the Pool from the 4th Floor. You either need to take the Esculator or Elevator to the 1st Floor if you are staying in the Towers.

So, to which floor do the stairs lead?

i'm a little confused, can you please clarify which floor you are talking about?
That's my question. :rotfl: The stairs in the middle of the resort on the pool/marina side, to which floor do they lead?

There are two ways to get to the pool--from the first floor out the back door. There is also a set of doors on the 3rd or 4th floor (maybe both??) that leads to a very wide concrete staircase that goes down to the ground near the pool.

Thank You Sherri and Minniedap.

The excitement is returning as our date quickly approaches.

Does anyone have any recent pictures of the CR that they'd like to share? (and please don't direct me to All Ears or any of the other threads, I've seen them, Thanks) pirate:

And oh yeah, NDftball; Go Irish!
I would love to say that I love the Contemporary, which I do, but only in the tower. I booked the standard wing room but after 2 nights of "Michael Flatley" and his ENTIRE entourage tap dancing above us, I was moved to the tower. Having the insight I do now, in hindisght I would pay whatever the cost is to upgrade to the tower. I don't think there is a bad room in the tower. The Food & Fun Center gets mixed reviews. I loved the Icee and free soda refills (with the $13.00 refillable mug) but the food was TERRIBLE!! I know WDW is not known for the greatest tasting counter service meals, but I ordered the pizza one night (returned it for a refund it was that bad) and a cheeseburger another night (returned that one too, both were completely inedible and we were Hungry!!). However, the Fun center is GREAT!!! My kids loved it, was definitely one of their favorite places to go. We had a lagoon view, picture below and cannot believe it was not a premium view. In any event, if you see the fireworks once nightly or get to view paradise all day and see the light parade at night, I would much prefer the lagoon view. We were on the 7th floor and overlooked all the action and monorails in the lobby. 2 BIG thumbs up for Contemporary Tower, two HUGE Thumbs down for wing rooms...long walk to refill mugs, no view, loud neighbors and ugly views not worth any $$. Hope that helped. enjoy!! ps these were from 2nd week of May 2005...pretty recent. I took picture of view with door closed (for depth perception) and on balcony, this is what you see in pics.
