Let me just tell you, that this is by far my most favorite resort. My expectations weren't that high actually because of all the bad reviews I've read.
Ok, I had to make 2 reservations because the standard view rooms in the garden wing would not allow me to stay all 6 nights in one room. So, I had one for the first night, then one for the next five with all standard view. Well when Dimitra (training Carlos) was checking us in for our first reservation she said, well you guys are on the 10th floor and... (ummm, what?) you will be facing MK (but..?). She said, what are you guys afraid of heights? NO, haha! We just weren't suspecting it due to the high price for that room. Well we thanked them a million times then she said, "Well, I see that you have the standard view for the next 5 nights, lemme see what I can do."
Well, she checks us in the next day and says, "I'm sorry that you will not be in that room, but you will still be on the 10th floor facing Bay Lake." Of course this also comes to a shock, and I'm just sooo happy. I never thought something like this would happen to me. Both views are very different, but are both incredible.
Noise: I've never stayed in a hotel so quiet and peaceful before. Oh, you're probably like, no way! It was a little busy on the 4th floor, and the constuction of the building outside was loud, but after you shut the door it was pitch quiet. The only time I ever heard noise in the night was my friend's sleep-talking and snoring, haha.
Theming: In my opinion, very Disney. It is now contemporary. They just about finished the lobby on the 1st floor, and it was looking great.
Food: I know all they have is the Tempo Grab & Go, but it wasn't bad. All they had was bottled drinks and a few selections of hot and cold food, but all tasted good. The only restaurant we ate at was the Concourse Steakhouse for breakfast and it was great.
Views:
MK-I've never seen anything like this before. Going from the All-Star Music in August to this, was unreal. With this view, you also get a parking lot view, but did not affect it at all. And we also had the beds that faced the castle, so we kept the curtain open and it was last thing we saw before we went to bed, and the first thing we saw when we woke up. The fireworks were so close and clear. Worth the price.
Bay Lake-Another awesome view. Your balcony opens up to the entire lake. The only thing that was bad was the construction. It was loud and ugly, but when its finished, it should be perfect. Plus everynight around 10 the electrical water parade would come out and that was cool too.
Room: The rooms were very large and could fit 4-5 comfortably. The flat screen and free internet access were also both great. The beds were awesome. I hated coming back to my stone back home, haha. One touch I loved were the sliding doors in the bathroom. Very different. The ceilings were low in the hallways, room foyer and the bathroom. So, if someone is over 6 ft., this may be a little weird. But it was no issue.
Pools: Very nice/clean, but nothing special. The quiet pool was kind of out on Bay Lake, which was great.
Other: We also rented the Sea Racers out on the lake which were great.
Overall, it was a great experience. And next time I go, this is where I'll be staying, even if I do just get a garden wing room. I have tons of pictures but I'm gonna be adding them on my trip report, so I'll add that link later.
