CR or Poly?

I swear I can never stay set on a resort for more than a week (if I even make it that long ) I was originally booked at Poly, downgraded, then got a code and upgraded to CR, but now I just can't decide :confused3. What should I do?

Both are great resorts . . . any difference in price? If not, I'd keep the reservation at CR.

That being said and if all things are equal - I'd stay at Poly over CR most trips!

What a ridiculously useless answer I gave! I think it's getting late for me!

Either do a split stay so you experience both resorts so next time you will not stress out..or stay with the CR! ;)

I love the CR and if the price is good I would say keep that reservation. BUT if the prices are equal and there is any chance that the construction at the CR is going to annoy you then I wouls switch to the Poly.

CR, love, love, love the location and the A frame and the monorail being inside the building, but the construction would bug me.
Poly, good location, no construction, not quite my thing, but have stayed here and enjoyed it.

It appears that you have already done CR in the past, so if you want to try something new go stay at the Poly. Either location has enough positives to make your stay a good one.

We picked CR for 2 reasons over the Poly and we could have done either:

1. CR is all housed in 1 building so if it is raining or killer hot you are walking inside and not outside.

2. There are no hot tubs at the Poly. I really do not understand why a deluxe resort would not have a hot tub but they dont. I use this every day so it would affect my vacation.

3.We sprang for the MK view with our discount offer and I am very excited!!!

If I had a tower room I would whole heartedly agree with your reasoning, however the only room available with my code was a garden wing room which makes me feel that if I have to walk outside to get to my room ANYWAY then why not Poly? The only way I may be able to get a tower room is when the AP rates come out.

As little as CR does for me, I could see possibly staying there if it were in the tower. For the life of me, I can't understand the appeal of staying in a garden wing.

Cost! When we were planning our trip I was really going back and forth between CR and Poly. However, the only rooms we could afford at CR were the in the garden wing. And heck...if that's what it takes to get me into a deluxe, then that is fine with me! As it turns out, AAA could get us a better rate at Poly GV than CR (only tower available) so we went with Poly.

I vote Poly. I just love the atmosphere so much, it is my favorite of all the Disney Resorts. And if your room at the CR is a garden room, I would definitely say Poly. We have stayed in a garden room at CR before and were not happy with it...it's a very different experience from the tower rooms.

The Poly resort is sooo relaxing. You feel like you are on another vacation. You get the best of both worlds - the tropics and Disney.

When we were there, it rained for 5 days and it was chilly. We didn't care about walking. It just added to the fun for us. The GCH was lots of fun and you feel like you are in another world. I loved the separate longhouses. It is very unique.

I do love going to the CR for Chef Mickey's. If I did stay there, I would have to stay in the tower for the view.

You could do Wilderness or Animal Kingdom Lodge cheaper. I understand wanting the monorail, but it is possible to do deluxe for a bit less money.

Everytime we book we struggle over how much we want to pay for the resort. However, there is no comparison between CR and Poly. CR just seems very "hotelish" however Poly is so beautiful and "resort like." We absolutely love Poly and would stay there everytime if cost was not a factor.

I totally see why you would pick a garden room at the CR. We ended up doing a split stay between CR garden room for $215/night and a Water View at the BC. We will do MK for the 3 days while at the CR along with whishes, P&PP, Chef Mickey's and California Grill and then switch to the BC and do everthing over there for the remaining 5 days. The savings of staying at the CR AP rate allows us to justify the BC Water View even with the AP...and we get the best of obth worlds. Don't get me wrong we LOVE the POLY, but somtimes it is nice to experience somplace else.
