CR garden wing or AKL Pool View which would you choose?

I've stayed at WL and vowed NEVER AGAIN. It took me over an hour and half to get to WL from the MK after Wishes one night, when my son was waiting for me at the Cub's Den! And I only made it back that fast because I knew to stop waiting for the WL ferry, and hoof it on foot the the Contemporary's boat dock, and take the resort-resort launch. If I'd waited for WL transportation, it would have easily been over two hours to go less than two miles.

Now, having said that, I saw a bus stop for WL at the MK. If anyone could confirm there's a bus available now, I'd consider staying there again.
Yep, took the bus from WL to MK Friday night because the boat from WL to the CR stops running at 10:00 p.m. :teeth:

Just got home from 7 nights in a South Garden Wing Room. It was excellent. We enjoyed it so much we want to go back. The construction noise was not heard at all and they were working on part of our building. The room was wonderful. No problems at all. Housekeeping was on top of everything. Our room was usually cleaned up and ready for us by 1PM, if not earlier. The pool was tops. Concourse Steakhouse was excellent for breakfast.

We either took the monorail or our car to every place we went to. Never rode a bus once on this trip.

What about pool facility for young children at CR? I have read that it is not zero entry so not sure if it would be great for 3 and 5 yr olds.

Now am leaning towards CR as transport from WL doesn't sound that great after all. Will I ever decide?!?

Thanks for that Review Deb & Bill. I am booking a wing room at CR for 1st night of our upcoming trip then moving to SSR.

I love the AKL very much, and I found the bus tranportation there to be great. However, with 2 little kids, I think I might lean towards the CR just for the location. The ability to walk back or take the monorail rather than struggling with 2 strollers and 2 tired little kids on a bus would probably decide it for me. I think I'd save the AKL for when a few years, when the strollers are history and the MK won't figure quite as prominently in your touring plans.

Thank you for all replies on this thread... We have decided to go into a totally different direction and stay at POR.... While I would love to stay at the CR I just could swallow the 2200.00 difference for the cost of 2 rooms... We don't really want to split stays because our kids are so young it's difficult to pack everything up and move to the next resort.... Therefore AKL is out of the question for this trip as well... :guilty: I hope I don't regret my choice.

I would pick AKL over CR, unless you can get a tower room at CR.

With the ages of your kids, I'd go CR only b/c you'll have a better time traveling with the monorail, you can walk to the MK... AKL is all bus transportation with strollers. POR you also only have bus transportation.

We did it!!! We upgraded to CR and I am thrilled to have monorail access. I am officially at the 45 day mark and can NO longer make any chances... THANK GOODNESS....

We stayed at CR North Garden Wing this past May/June. LOVED IT!!!!! Had room 8119 with a FANTASTIC view facing Bay Lake. So peaceful...no noise...had a great view of EWP every night.

Our room was in great shape (I don't mind the old decor...seems kinda whimsy to me) but we didn't have any stains, torn carpet or anything. We DID have one drawer that wouldn't close, but DH started fooling with it and found that it wouldn't close because there was a brand new Epcot t-shirt (unopened in plastic wrap) stuck behind it!! Free t-shirt! Thanks Tink!

Being on the monorail is a perk unlike no other, but being able to WALK to MK and back...especially after Wishes...is priceless.

Have fun! :Pinkbounc
