In addition to what Joanna said:
There really isn't a "summer program" any longer. Really hasn't been one since they started up the Spring Advantage and Fall Advantage programs.
The only way they can squeeze a summer program in is if enough people quit or are terminated from Spring Advantage before May to make it worthwhile to have one. And on top of that, it has to be enough people leaving that can't be replaced with the quarter school participants (who arrive like in March or April) or Fall Advantage people.
From what I learned, it is a pretty complicated thing because they have to estimate the people who will leave early on. That's what they are doing right now. Figuring everything out. How many people they think will leave, in what positions, and if they really need to have those spots filled between May and August.
If they do have it, you won't have a full menu option of all of the types of roles. They will limit them down to a select few and you can bet that Quick-Service and Custodial will definitely be there.
When it comes to the total number of people they need, that's where they start narrowing down their applicant pool. Is it open to everyone or just alumni? If it is just alumni, is it open to all alumni or just recent ones? Do you have to still be an active Cast Member? What about people with restricted or no rehire statuses? My guess is that they are eliminated from the start?
What interests me the most about this year if they have it is how they are going to incorporate the whole Gallop profile into the mix. What if they make alumni take it and they don't pass?
They seem to change how to apply for it each year too. But they do put it all in the alumni section of wdwcollegeprogram.com and send it via email. So if you are signed up for the alumni newsletter and you keep checking the site, you will be in the know.
I should also add that the last 2 years, they only accepted alumni applications for like a month. that's how few positions they ever need to fill.
