CP Questions

We are scheduled to be at DL on Sunday 12/05 the same day as the CP. I know its going to be busy that day but I have some questions about that. Is DL packed ALL day or just towards the afternoon? How is the rest of the park besides Main Street while the CP is going on? And last but not least how is DCA? Does it get as busy as DL? Thanks for all your help. This is our last day at DL during our trip and really dont want to cancel that day at DL all together, just trying to prepare and come up with some type of plan.

I was there for it last year. I felt like both parks were more busy than normal all day. As the day went on it got crazier though. Could have just been a saturday around christmas time, but it was a very busy day all in all. DCA wasn't as busy as DL, but still had a lot of people. I would just suggest getting there early and plan on afternoon crowds getting super busy.

We were there for a weekend trip during CP and it was busy, but I thought it was concentrated around Main St. I expect the weekends to be busier anyway, so I was ready for it. We just avoid Main St all together until we were ready to watch the CP. We didn't purchase tickets and you can stand around the roped off areas to watch it. It was very nice. You don't necessarily have to have a great view to enjoy it (although we got lucky with that).

But overall I didn't think it was any more packed "in" the park than usual, if you aviod Main St that is.

If you can afford it and don't want to fight it: a couple years ago I had dinner at the steakhouse at the DL Hotel and they gave my party free tickets to the formal seating area for the CL show. Maybe someone could speak to whether they are still offering that deal or you could probably ask food reservations for any details. You're fortunate to be there when they are presenting a wonderful program that they only offer a couple times a year. As for the crowd. I don't recall it be any different than any other holiday weekend in the park with the exception of the Town Square Train Station area being roped off during the day. They keep ingress and egress to the front gate moving all during the program. Hope this helps.
