So! The MK earlier operating hours next week have thrown me for a bit of a loop, but more time in MK is always a good thing, right? I'm trying to choose between these 2 breakfasts taking into account time of day and the fact that MK is our favorite park --

Option A - MK opens at 8 am (not an EMH day). CP ressie at 8:10 am. Can't decide if I want to miss that "golden hour" in MK by eating at CP. We haven't done CP in years . . . the Pooh characters aren't super important to us. But we'd be right in the park and hopefully be able to hit the rides shortly after 9. (Up 'til last week, MK was opening at 9 am this day, so it wasn't an issue then.)

Option B - MK opens at 8 am (is an EMH day). 1900 PF ressie at 10:55 am. So we'd get our time in MK from 8 am - 10:20 am, monorail over to GF and be done eating shortly after 12? [Do they run very late?] At this point in the day, I had us hopping to EPCOT anyway. Haven't been to 1900 in years either, character mix is slightly more intriguing, but not critical. So we're shorting ourselves a little bit in MK that day, but we've been able to utilize that wonderful first 2 hours.

WWYD? Thanks!!

WWID? ........
Option #1 = miss the "golden hour"
Option #2 = eat a pretty late breakfast

If this was the only day I was going to be at MK I would do option #2.

If I was going to be at rope drop another day at MK then I would go with Option #1 mainly because around 10:30 is when I start figuring out where we are going to eat lunch due to being up since 6 AM.

can i suggest option #3? ;)

i'd do the am EMH @ MK then do a later breakfast/early lunch @ CP

if going with #2, jmho, over the years we've had an issue or two with the monorail running smoothly, i'd give myself more of a 45 minute leeway & sign in @ 1900 podium & poke around the lobby.

Yes, believe me - Option 3 would have been my first choice too! :) The problem is that I booked the CP ressie months ago as I had to, and then I think it was just last week that the park hours changed. No other current CP options available. So now we have this 8:10 CP ressie on a day when the park opens at 8:00. And that's what's killing me a little.

Either way, we're not touching our EMH MK early part of the day - that's safe from at least 8-10 am whether we choose 1900 PF or CP. (I've got 1900 PF booked for the EMH day and CP booked for the day after, so I will definitely cancel one.)

The monorail news is a little worrisome . . . plus I now have DH telling me that he's worried about getting to breakfast at 10:50 when they shut down at 11:30 . . . actually, that may have to be a new post!

I'm going to keep checking for cancellations b/c I really am torn.

For starters, keep checking as you're planning on doing. It can never hurt :).

Secondly, when heading over to 1900 PF, I'd actually look at the boat docks over the monorail. GF has a direct ferry too and from MK and with the way the monorail runs, it's typically quicker (and less busy!) to use the ferry to GF than the monorail. (Note that it's a bit quicker to roughly equal to use the monorail back from the GF to MK though).

Also, your husband has nothing to worry about, they'll keep the food coming so long as guests are eating. The "shut down" is essentially the time they stop letting people in, it's not uncommon for the buffets to be serving quite a while after their official close time.

I think I'd also pick option #2 of the list if you can't get a 10am or so CP.

I think we're definitely leaning option B right now . . . I'm just so excited we're going after we had to cancel last year that I really shouldn't care! :yay:

I would do option 2. we liked 1900 better then CP plus that golden hour in the morning saves you lots of time during the day

Without a doubt, option 2. You can get more done in those first two hours than you can all afternoon. Not sure if this pertains to 1900 PF, but I have read on other posts that if you book a later breakfast, sometimes you cross into lunch and may be served lunch options on the buffet, as well. I have never read that they stopped serving, though.
