CP Dinner Packages--Don't wait in line!

I've seen a few posts in the CP dinner package discussions about how folks waited in long lines for the dinner package reserved seating area for CP. Don't do that!

--If you do, you're wasting one of the big benefits of buying the package. That line time could be spent at an attraction, or watching Tapestry of Dreams, or just soaking in some WS atmosphere.

--As long as you are there 15 minutes or so before the show, you will get into the theater.

--There really aren't any bad seats in the theater, and certainly not in the reserved seating area. You don't need to be in the first couple of rows.

--If some people do it, then everyone else feels compelled to do it!

I'm with you!!!! I think the Candlelight package is the way to go - especially if you're going to eat at one of the World Showcase restaurants anyway! The last two years, we usually show up about 15 minutes before show time and we just walk on in. We've always gotten great seats (no, not first row; but still very good seats!)

This year, we're having dinner at Chefs de France and then doing the 8:15 Candlelight Processional on Dec 6. Can't wait!!!

One thing to consider if the weather is bad - only the front section is under cover. We used the package a couple of years ago, got in line about 30 minutes before showtime, were pretty far back in line, got good seats in the second section but they were not under cover (but the weather was OK). Another thing we noticed - you enter the theater from the left side. More people find seats on that left side. We wished we would have kept walking over to the right side, we may have found closer seats over there.

if you do the CP dinner package do you go in another enterance? (like you do for Fantasmic)
If not how does lining up work? We plan on doing a dinner package so we don't have to wait in line.
Thanks

It's not a seperate entrance per se, just another line that they let you in (you get an admission ticket) while the others who are not on the dining package have to wait in the other line. We went right in, got perfect seats about 8 rows out. The performance was stunning. I've read alot of posts about people who like this narrator and that narrator, but I beleive the true beauty in CP is the orchestra and choir.

You really get into the spirit of the holiday season. Last year was especially touching as it was soon after the 9/11 events.

We ate at Japan's Teppanyaki. An excellent choice after a week of pizza, burgers, hot dogs and chicken nuggets for the kids. They actually enjoyed this delicious meal. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would also disagree that there are no bad seats in the theater (or at least argue that there are some less than preferred seats). Depending on when you go, the theater can TOTALLY be filled with CP package holders (when we went the first time, they let TWO people in out of the standby line). If you do not want to wait in line, you will get a seat and that may be all that many people want. But if you want to be guaranteed a decent seat, you may want to stand in line if the performance is a sellout or near sellout. In any case, you will be able to hear the performance from any of the seats and you will be comfortable as compared with standing, so the CP package definitely has its advantages.
