CP Dinner Package

Christmas Disney rookie here. The best I can figure, CP dining pkgs will be available to book sometime in July. My dining reservation window begins June 23, at least a couple of weeks earlier. Do they hold back a block of times at those participating restaurants for CP dining pkg reservations, or should I make my dining reservation at my restaurant of choice on the 23rd and then convert it when those CP pkgs come available?

There is no reason to make a reservation now. Those reservations aren't converted to a CP package. You would be cancelling one and trying to book another.

You only want to go ahead with the ADR now if you plan to eat there even if you don't get a CP package. It cannot be converted.

You will want to watch the dining forum here on the DIS for the announcement of when those packages are released. Some locations go quickly.

That's what I was thinking, thanks. So my question then is, if the regular public is snagging time slots two weeks before the reservations for CP dining begin, how are any time slots left? Do they block off some times or no?

They hold back what they anticipate using for CP.
