I FINALLY managed to snag a Crystal Palace ADR and it is for 8:20am. Is this too late for a 9am park opening? Will we have enough time to eat before the masses are let in? I really want earlier but it is so difficult to get that so close to our trip. We leave in 18 days YAY

We had an 8:05 last September and we were done by 8:50. We were one of the first ones seated and we got to see all the characters. I think it might depend on whether or not you want to see all the characters and how fast they come around to your table.

I have a question...if I have a 8:10 reservation at CP, how early can we get into the park? It has always been my dream to walk up Main St, see the castle and take pics without tons of people around. Anyone know?:confused3

Love to know this too, especially since I could only get an 8:15, which would have been fine, except now AM EMH is that day apparently and MK opens at 8am.. :(

I have an 8:30 CP ADR and was wondering if I should get an earlier ADR as well. I don't mind being out of the restaurant after park opening because I'll be there during low season (crowd calendar is at a 2) but I was also assuming that the crowds aren't high right at park opening. Is that a dumb assumption?

We have an 8:05am at CP too -and now the park opens at 8 that day!
I'm wondering how early they'll let us in for that? I'm worried that since it's the same time as opening we are going to get stuck in the frenzy of people instead of beating it :(

From my experience, anything at 8:20 or later will mean you won't be done until after the park opens (if you want to see all the characters). But we're only talking about 10 or 15 minutes after rope drop so it won't be to tragic for any touring plan you might have. Make sure to check in at the restaurant ASAP so you get your pager sooner and will be seated sooner.

As far as how early they'll let you in. We had an 8:20 ADR and had no trouble getting into the park at 7:50 last October.

Every time we've had a early ressie in the park they just let everyone in at the same time, we've never even had our confirmation number checked or anything. Usually around 7:50am or so. Not sure what happens though if you get there after the initial mob that goes in.

As for making it to the park by opening, we had an 8:15 ADR at CP last time, and we were about 10 minutes after rope drop leaving, but the park was still mostly empty, and it was a pmEMH day in June! It does depend on whether you stay for all the characters. You can definitely be done eating in that time, but depending on where you are sitting, sometimes you just miss a character and may have to wait an hour or more for them to get back.

I like having a slightly later ADR though (not right at 8am) b/c then I don't have to be rushed going down Main St and can take time to get some good pics in front of the castle before checking in.

Honestly, I think they seat you in the order you check in at the podium. They don't make all the 8:20 people sit around and wait while they wonder if the rest of the 8:10 people will show up. Just go in with the early people and check in. Ask for your ticket soon after being seated so that when you are done you can go without needing to settle up.

If it's an EMH morning starting at 8, will they start taking reservations earlier than 8, or is 8 always the earliest no matter when the park opens?

I ask b/c we'd love to get into the park for those deserted MS pictures, but we're going during Spring Break and MK has AM EMH EVERY MORNING(!) we're there. We're staying off property so won't be doing EMH. I guess if we get 8 reservation we could eat and be in the park before the all the others not doing EMH that morning.

It opens at 8 even on EMH mornings.

We've run into this issue in December. The closer we get to our trip, the always seem to add more early hours. More than once I've ditched an ADR in favor of the early park time.
