BBB isn't really like any other merchandising position, and you can't really work for any other area other than BBB if you do get it as we never received cash register training.
I knew a CP FGIT in DTD that got matra trained so she could pick up more shifts. But I think she had allegeric reactions to the hairsprays and could only work podium anyway.
to the original poster: I did merchandise. I worked at World of Disney. The managers pretty much left you alone and you were either 1. on the register or 2. stocking/helping guests find their size. Pretty straight forward stuff. Not super exciting or eventful everyday, but at least you are in the AC and get lots of breaks. For me, it was pretty boring at times because I've been working retail for a long time. I got joy out of little things like doing magical moments or trading pins. The one thing I hated about my location was the 3pm-2am stock shifts. YUCKY! The 10-7:30 BBB shifts is what I lived for. ;]
Rumor had it that they like to throw CPs with previous retail experience into the big stores because after a couple of days on-the-job-training, you pretty much have to fend for yourself.
