I cannot decide between the Jeep Exploration or the Off Road Adventure to Jade Caverns on the X-Rail off road vehicles in Cozumel. I would love to hear from those that have done one or both.

My dream is to own a Jeep Wrangler. I honestly lust over them. Still, I have driven Jeeps before and some day I will own one, but I may never get to drive an X-Rail again.

We did the jeep exploration tour recently. It was ok but nothing "to write home about"! Not exactly what I thought it would be after reading the reviews. Just an ok tour

My DH and DS did the offroad ride to Jade Caverns. DH said the x-rail was difficult to steer and very bumpy. He normally loves ATV rides, but said these were much harder to drive and a lot less comfortable.

We did the jeep exploration last year and I would say avoid it! Nothing much to see, beach was nice, food was rubbish, guide was great. But our issue was the jeep- it was a wreck with bald tyres- not roadworthy. Not what we were expecting from Disney at all.

So it sounds like we should skip both. ha ha! I saw another review of the X-rail that said the guide acknowledged the roughness of the ride. Called it some sort of Cozumel massage or something.

That is disappointing that the Jeep ride isn't more interesting. It would just be me and my wife so I assume they would have us share the Jeep with another couple. It would be fun to meet some people, but not sure if I want to split the driving- I would want to do it all. I know, I need professional help.

I'm glad you asked this question because we were deciding between these two excursions and the Fury Catamaran snorkel. It looks like we will try for the fury catamaran after reading such good reviews for it and avoid these two. :)

I would NOT recommend the Off Road Excursion to Jade Caverns. We actually rode to the site, but left before doing it because they said you would be covered in mud and the dust/dirt would be so bad you'd need to purchase a bandana from them to cover your nose and mouth! Not my idea of a good time. My husband went (the kids and I went back to the ship) and he did get very, very muddy and said the X rail was so difficult to drive (and he works out!) that I never could've handled it on my own. Disney gave us our money back for the kids and I.

We stay in Cozumel yearly. Just this last January my DD, DSIL, and DH decided to try the XRail. They had a blast and couldn't stop talking about it. Soooo, if you are in for an adventure, go for it. Just wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or ones that you can just throw in the trash. They have an area for you to wash up but they still came back dirty to the resort. They jumped in the ocean for a quick wash up and nothing was stained.

I am the DD and we LOVED the XRail. I have pictures and videos if anyone is interested in seeing them. We did get dusty and muddy but did not fall into the hype of needing a bandana and we brought our own bug spray and sunscreen.

They were hard to drive but we loved all the rocking and rolling. The mud puddle at the end was awesome!

It was in January and the water was warm!

I would love to see pictures and/or videos. This sounds right up our alley...DH & DS would love it...I would just like to show them and make sure they are ok with it. :thumbsup2

We'll be going on February 2014 and I pray the water is warm.:cool2:

I would also love to see pictures and video. The pictures on the DCL website are staged and corny.
