Cozumel Beach Break Excursion

Hello,

I booked this excursion, but found out from other posts that it was too crowded. I need some advice, I have read some good reviews about Mr. Sancho's beach, but DH is not too thrilled about going on our own and taking a taxi cab in Cozumel - afraid we will get ripped off.

Any thoughts suggestions you have would be great?

Jul, I have been doing research on Cozumel through this board and several others. If I have learned anything it is that Cozumel is very safe. Check out this site and the message boards on it

I was alittle worried about doing the same thing last year in St Martin. But it was great! For less then half of the DCL beach trip we went to a beautiful uncrowded beach and had a fantasic day.
Cab rates in Cozumel are per cab (not per person) and a flat fee is charged for your destination.

Do it yourselves!! Taxis are readily available at the port and the charge is $15 for the cab our driver was surprised at getting a tip! Entry to the beach is free and you can sit at the tables at the bar for free and I think there is a small charge for loungers on the beach. It is spotless as are the rest rooms. Very easy to do and so much cheaper than an excursion.

Disvaclub...My DH thought the same thing till we were there. It really is safe in Cozumel. The cab drivers, run back and forth all day to transport passengers, all they really want to do is to just make a living. I know how you are feeling, but we had NO problem. Neither did anyone that I know of on our cruise.
