Cozumel Beach Break - Can you get on an earlier bus?

We were able to book the 9:30am departure for this excursion (BTW - this excrusion was fully booked for the LONGEST time!! I was checking every couple of weeks. Then today, 8 days before our cruise, it had avaibility again!! yay! so if you want to book something that's already full, keep checking!) But I'm pretty sure my 2 year old will be very tired after lunch so I am hoping we will have the option to bring her back earlier. I think with the 9:30am departure, the return time is 2:30pm.. and there's a 8:30am departure meaning there would be buses leaving at 1:30pm. Does anyone know if we will be allowed to take the earlier bus?

I know with normal one-day excursions, you stay together as a group and transport together. Not sure if something like the beach break will have more frequency buses going back to port. Thanks for any replies in advance!

When we did the Cozumel beach break (the one that goes to Playa Mia), there was a bus that took us there and back and I am pretty sure that the bus was filled up with every seat taken. We were told to make sure to take the same bus (it had a number) on the way back as the one that we came with. So, I would guess that there won't be space on the earlier bus.

Keep looking if the earlier opens up! And once you are on board go and speak to the people at the Port Adventures desk, you might be lucky that someone still cancels the earlier tour.

You could also always just take your own transportation to Playa Mia and back and not depend on the busses. It is supposed to be very straightforward. Plenty of taxis at the port and at Playa Mia they had a guy at the exit directing people to their busses or getting taxis for them.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think I'd rather do the 8:30-1:30pm (toddler doesn't like to sleep in, lol) so I'll keep an eye out for availability. Otherwise we'll just try to make her nap at the beach in her stroller or take a taxi back. Thanks!

One note, if you opt for the taxi, please be sure to give your tour guide a heads up that you might be doing that. I've been on tours where we waited up to 45 minutes for the guide to figure out that someone was not returning on the bus.
