Coz: Use Taxi to get around???

Is it a good idea to use taxis to get around at Cozumel ----ie to Chakanaab Park>>>>???

We did it, it was cheap, fast & easy. I think we paid around $10 for 3 people each way. There is a taxi line at the port, and another one at Chankanaab.

We did. Just came back from the 5/10 Western. It's was simple and easy. The $10 rate to Chankanaab from port is standard & published. Just remember to tell the taxi driver to turn on the air cond. They won't unless you ask.

We are totally planning a trip to Chakanaab Park (Dolphin Swim) but I just thought about my 6 and 3 year olds in a taxi

I am a huge car seat advocate and won't even let my 10 year old (5 feet. 95lbs) sit in the front seat. But it never dawned on me about what to do on our cruise.

What have some of you done about kids and excursions??

Sorry, you really don't have much choices. I seriously doubt any local taxis on any island carry carseats, some may not even have working seat belts. If you insist on having carseats, you'll have to bring your own and be sure to pick a cab that has the needed seat belts. From what I observed, most children/infants were carried in adult's lap/arms.

I don't believe DCL excursions provide any better solution. The only improvement is the size of their vehicle, which are usually bigger vans/buses.

If you find anything better, we'll all be happy to learn.

Wow--that is really scary. I can't see us lugging our car seat and booster seat through the Caribbean, but the thought of them sitting on my lap is just soooo scary

Has anyone else run into this problem and found a solution??
